Does anyone know if the 2008 IS F has the XM Nav-Weather capability? I know the 2010 has it but I did not know if this was new to the 2010 model year.

Thanks,
Steve

The weather feature was added in 2010 along with the GEN6 NAV system. XM became standard in 2010 and was paired with weather/traffic updates at that time.
Thank you, I wish I had that option.
You can still add XM to your vehicle and it will interface with your unit. Also you can update your Ipod connect to the new unit in about 5 minutes and 30 bucks from VIAS technologies. It changes the charging output to 5v vs 3v so your Iphone will now charge.

If memory serves me correct, you can only add XM OR the Vias ipod interface on the pre-10 models. They both use the same port on the back of the radio so it's one or the other.
Thanks guys for all the information. As crazy as it may seem, I don't have much interest in the XM radio as I do getting the weather to pop up on my screen. I try my best to keep the car in decent weather and around here, hail is common so this feature for me would get a lot of use.
My pleasure! If you really want the weather feature, I can wrap it in a nice 2010 IS-F for you!:) Have fun with that car!

Well I'm not sure how but on my 08 I have both. The XM adaptor was already installed in the car when I purchased and I had the dealer install the Vias ipod and they both work just fine. I have no idea how it hooks together though as I've never looked, but it is possible to have both.

My dealer told me the same thing, that you could have the VAIS Tech iPod adapter and XM. However with the Lexus iPod adapter you could only have iPod and not XM.

The factory unit goes through the AUX input, IIRC. My VAIS Tech unit goes through the CD Changer input. Hitting the CD button multiple times cycles through the changer and then the iPod.

My VAIS Tech unit has been a bit flaky, so if you aren't wanting XM, I'd go with the factory unit.

About how much is it costing y'all to get the XM that is interactive with the cars factory system? I called the local dealership and they quoted $600 which I think is a bit on the high side to say the least.
My dealer quoted $1200 installed for XM, so I said no thanks :)
