Man...I gotta vent here..... I occasionally jump on the M3 forum to see the posts.
Can someone tell me why the hell Lexus only has a choice of 3 interior colors?
If I'm correct, the M models have like what... 8 choices.? I mean would it kill Lexus USA to offer I don't know ..maybe RED..or GREY..or dare I ask maybe a SADDLE for an interior..Good gosh almighty it pisses me off....Heck even the terra cotta covers about 1/3 of the seats. It's almost as if Lexus is saying "alright alright...we'll give you an option of terra cotta...BUT ONLY THE BOLSTERS" Yeah..we don't want to upset the cart now would we.......
What the @@@@????.

All those fancy colors drive up production costs that get passed along to the buyer. I think the ISF is already having a hard time with sales as it is and not afford a higher price.

Well..maybe so...I just don't get it. It's freakin' Dye right ;-)) I mean seriously, the colors are not a different leather..it's just dye colors. It's just frustrating. I will have an IS-F one day..but i think black on black interior is just so uninviting...

OK, I get your point. I don't agree, But I get your point. For me, Black IS the only choice.

black interior is the only way to go for me. for me i feel darker interior is less distracting, and also extremely classy.

That's because Black is the only choice you have...other than white!! ;-)) (Actually the truth be told...if I only had a choice of Black VS White interior...I too would choose Black leather. But I bet if given a choice of Red, Saddle, or charcoal...I bet the charcoal would be in your IS-F right now ;-)

Yes, you are right about the cost of dye for the leather being cheap. But this is a Japanese car. They are big into proficiency in production (5S type stuff). Things are simplified and standardized into only offering a few different variations to control cost and and keep warehousing/storage costs down. This is something they are very good at, so much so big companies like Boeing employ consultants to help standardize/simplify production, and they are building planes that are 100's of millions per aircraft on a per order basis, not pre-building and let set on a lot somewhere.

I don't disagree with you, but I do kinda understand the train of thought. I like the black too, but it isn't for everybody.

Good luck.

I think the black with blue hue & stitching fits the ISF the best. White/Black leather is nice but for longevity reasons, the black interior is best.

I suppose you could get the white and have it dyed to whatever color you want :D

I saw an IS-F for sale in europe somewhere.... It had red leather on the door panels. Looked really nice. Lexus is not alone in this. Try ordering a C63 with anything but black or white interior. When I had my Audis - same problem.
