I know one thing that does NOT work: calling the female officer "sir". She didn't take too kindly to that!! 
It was too late anyway, already had the ticket in my hand!
BTW, why do they always ask:
"Do you know how fast you were going?"
He** yeah I know!! and I would have been going faster if you hadn't pulled me over!!"
