What is the tasteful fix for the silly quad fake exhaust ?

This is the one place the car just rubs me horribly wrong. Looks juvenille - is about the nicest thing I can say.
Any OEM looking mods that people have done or seen?? I thought after all the "poking fun at" - that Lexus would change this in '10. Painting black helps - but not much.

I think you will be disappointed to know that BMW and Mercedes Benz are follow the Lexus lead and utilizing "fake" exhaust tips on their newest offerings. The exhaust is no longer connected to the metal tip which is integrated into the bumper cover.

You can be mad at Ferarri too for the exhaust design on the California is reminiscent of what Lexus did for the ISF:

So is Ferarri juvenile for doing this to their car?
See less See more
everyone has their opinions, just let them deal with it.
This issue is old. The fake exhausts have been used forever in the industry. Guess no one was observant enough to notice until now? Joe Z is "hopefully" producing some slip on CF covers and your only other option is to remove them and do something like 5-Axis did.

Or as quoted above get the ISS Forge! Nothing against Joe Z!

I think this will be a sufficient fix for me - just mutes the appearance enough. The proto images look like the CF will be more black then brown in color which will be nice.

IIRC all four are actually fully functioning no the california.

Has it been covered, if I make the extra two ports funcitonal, will it effect the exhaust tone negatively? I guess that's sort of subjective.
