What I find annoying about the is-f

Lovely car but.........is it just me or does its glass tend to chip easily? Of all the cars I've driven, I've never experienced a windshield that is as sensitive as the IS-F.

Also, the squeaky brakes! What have you guys done to remedy these issues?

Maybe Flipside can help... Is the windshield, particularly the rear, made of thinner substance (therefore lightweight) compared to the other IS models? I think it is as it sounds pretty much like that of the Subie STi Spec C, when you knck on it. I always wanted to ask if anyone else noticed.
Love the car as well :D
but only with 12,000 miles mine is now chip :(
and the noise when you brake, I found it very hard to take it
off cause you re driving a high performance sports car and thats
what heppen even that I changed mine for Hawk ceramic pads

Sergio ISF
Starfire Pearl
Joe Z exhaust & intake, Toms filter, Toms throttle controller, Hawk brake pads, black chrome emblems, Nitto Invo tires on the way...
ive got 16k on mine now, no chips, but the brakes were squeaking, and they were pretty close to having to be changed anyway, so i brought it in to lexus and told them about my concern with the squeaks and they replaced them all, all 4, with resurfaced rotors, free.... :D under warranty. ill take some squeaks if they replace them with new pads for free every 14k miles, hahahaha. with how much these cars cost , and with toyotas issues, they should bend over backwards to make their current owners happy. try getting the pads replaced under warranty. cant hurt to ask! (PS i also bought the service writer a case of beer for helping me out, so next time maybe he'll hook it up again!)
I dislike that you cant control the fog lights separately from your other lights.

You cant turn off traction control while driving.

The Lexus factory ipod kit doesn't have a repeat feature.

Haven't had any issues with the brakes other than the dust.
mine was chipped in about 5 tiny places within my first 1000 km
unfortunate
too small to be fixed
I think it is stupid that they made the keyless feature that makes it not able to lock the car and let the car warm up. I asked Lexus and they said that they could drive your car forever as long as they never turned it off! Thats plan not using your head!
I am thinking of getting a new 2010 in a few months. The question is if you knew all this stuff before you bought it would you have bought it anyway?

That's false.

Angle of the windshield and luck is key to windshield chips/cracks.

I've had my ISF windshield replaced already. Luckily my insurance company replaced it with OEM Lexus glass.
cracks are inevitable at high speeds! and don't tail gate lol, but anything can happen, safelite repairs :) as for the squeeks, carbon ceramic brake pads, reduces less brake dust and will not squeak if broken in correctly. I still have a brand new set by hawk performance from a group buyer late last year, if you are interested pm me!
I have one chip on the windshield but it's too small to notice. I've learned to live with the brake dust and the occasional squeaks. The only thing that bothers me are the rattling noises inside the cabin that's hard to detect. I just drown it with my music. My wife's 03 Acura TL-S doesn't have this problem at all...
Yep, I agree on the rattles. I have one that I just can not detect. Windshield is fine though.
Avoid windshield chips by passing the car in front of you. That's why you bought the beast.
That's a lot of cars to pass in LA traffic, LOL!
