Guys,

Wanted to touch base with you guys on a IS-f they are working on in the shop. The IS-f is owned by Steven who I think is on here sometimes. The guys next door have removed the engine today in under 3hours!!

Steven will be getting a custom engine package with rods, pistons, custom cams, studs, etc.. Before the rumors start this car was not in any way damaged before the engine build. It has like 2100 miles on it ans was not boosted yet..

Then the Artisan Crew is whipping up some turbo system and attempting to put down at least 750whp if not more...

I know you guys love this stuff thought i would post up...I will update this as we tear into the engine and really see what is under the massive valve covers.

Thanks

You wouldn't happen to have a shot from the side of the engine showing the exhaust manifolds would you:confused:

I will and I'm sure others will, appreciate a blow by blow update on the development of this project. Please keep us posted. This will be a very interesting thread.

Man you guys have guts! Big job ahead... Best of luck!
Wow this should be a fun thread to follow!
I'll be watching this build with piqued interest. I think I will wait until the bumper to bumper warranty has expired on mine before I play with the internals, but this should help shed some light on what is possible.

Does anybody know the maximum torque rating for this transmission? I know BMW and Mercedes put out this figure on some of their transmissions, and I was wondering if Lexus has on this one.
Why dont u guys offer a tune???? If you have ecu tuning capabilities there are much more buyers for an aftermarket tune than the 15k turbo kit...

Just my 2 cents...

And... IF you can get the car to run over 6psi with no check engine lights you might have a new customer in me.
interesting.... I wish I had the 15K to spend though... I'm more interested in the internals than the boost. How about some CAMS?

there are no check engine lights in the one on youtube. the driver has it in sport mode with vsc turned off so you see that in the bottom right as for the check system in the middle that is bc the driver isnt running tps sensors in his rims bc the aftermarket ones he went with wouldnt allow it.

Funny that you mention this. But this car was never tuned properly. I really doubt anyone can "reflash" the factory Toyota/Lexus ECM. No one has ever sucessfully done it...not even MHP can make that claim. Many long time and respected Toyota tuners know it cannot be done unless you do a standalone. As for the car in the video...it has been acquired back by the local Lexus dealer in Vegas. The car was never tuned properly and does not run smoothly.

Exactly. The kit dosent seem legit starting with the tune. I know that the is350 is able to hold 6psi on stock ecu. This is probably the case here.

i know they cant i have tried every resource i have for standalones and its to hard for even hydraems to tackle. i was just pointing out that he didnt actually have any check engine lights on. i wont even say what i want to about running water injection with no way of tuning for it.

2nd Gen IS i dont think has ever been done. First gen you may remember back around 2004 a guy up north somewhere i think it might have been toronto cracked it and could reprogram it. He wanted $2K for a reprogram and the car had to come to him everytime for a re-tune. That was about the time the AEM's and the Haltechs really started to take off for the IS300 and everyone pretty much ignored him and never took a car up there. So it has been done before just not by someone who wants to make any money off of it or at least someone who realizes 200 customers at $500/each is alot more money then 10 customers at $2K each which he could even get together.

Typical classic tuner BS
