The touchscreen on my 2008 IS-F just stopped working yesterday. The side buttons all work and the navi still shows my location but it is not responding to touch at all. Voice command still okay. I googled this and found it to be a common problem across all models. The fix is to replace the touchscreen and some have even commented that the screen only lasts 3-4 years! Is this really true or is this a problem with early models only?

Was your screen cracked? Did the dealer give you a reason why this is not covered under warranty? I googled and found this is a common problem with all Lexus models, LS, ES and IS.
