I'm at the largest dealership in the midwest, I get 5-6 a month, and I currently have 2 brand new ones, and a pre-owned. I'm not saying I won't accept offer of anything less than list price, but not $500 over invoice.

I don't expect anyone to over pay, and I sure as hell would not mark up the vehicle like Dodge is currently doing on the Challenger and Chevy with the Z06 !!

When the Z06s came out, every dealer in this area was marking them up 10-15k. Now, they are selling them for under invoice and no takers! My buddy is supposed to take delivery of his GTR this weekend and don't ask how much he's paying over sticker...haha!

"dealership near my house. largest volume lexas dealer in the west coast."

I believe sir your talking about Longo Lexus, they're the only one I could think of that big in Cali,,,BUT they are always second to JM Lexus--- 16 YEARS STRAIGHT and they try to outsell JM but they cant..even as we speak today it looks like 17 years straight because we're 300+ ahead in new car sales so far this year!!! These are just the facts NO ONE comes even close.Congrats on the ISF though,, when you get it

Smoke you are 100% correct !! JM and Longo are top 2 !!

PkRockt I would be the first to say I would never pay over list price !!! Not when in a short time afterwards they are being discounted, or in some cases can't be given away !!

Same goes for me. I've never paid MSRP and especially over MSRP for any car. If the deal is fair, I'll make a move. I guess some are just too eager to get the first batch of certain cars and have money...not me!

Andy, they dont lose money selling for 500 over invoice. hell u could sell the car at invoice and ud still make money.
say u get 5 ISFs. u sell one at invoice. the other 4 at prices ranging from 1-5k over invoice. even the one at invoice you made money because for selling all 5 you get a nice "kickback" rebate. I have many friends in the automotive industry who have confirmed this, as did the finance manager at the lexus dealership near my home.

all im saying is not all salesmen are greedy. Andy, YOU may want to make 5k per ISF u sell, and thats your issue. some people would rather make 2000 per car and sell 5, then hope to make 5k and sell one. Greed is a natual human trait that we all have, whereas some people are able to manage it better than others. if you can sell all 5 at 5k profit each, more power to you; just that i definitely wont be one of your "customers." Do most buyers know how to get a good deal or know what they want in a car? no, and they get ripped off. However, if you are knowledgeable, do your research and compare, like I DO before buying, then you will get a great deal. Simple as that. Also, it helps that i have a good relationship with the finance manager at the dealership. maybe im getting a deal that one of u wont get. i dont know that, nor do i care. bottom line is, im going to get this car and im going to get it for around 54k before tax, title, and reg so around 60k out the door.

i understand that its a business, but simply put, with this deal on the table, i am not going to pass it up nor am i going to buy elsewhere for say, 1-2-even 3k off msrp. the only reason why i have not pulled the trigger yet is because they have a white/white interior coming in by months end, and i have not decided between black/white interior yet. oh, and this one comes equipped with PS2s, instead of the bridgestones of the other 7 cars on the lot.

and for the record, i agree with SMoke on the over msrp deal. anyone who pays over MSRP for any car is stupid or foollish. i dont care if its a freaking veyron. if you are paying over msrp, IMO you are foolish.

WP, I think you have me confussed with others.... ^ If you look above, I am the person that said I would never ask or pay over list. I did not say we would loose money either.

Just wanted to set the record straight. And I wouldn't pass the deal up on the IS-f your buddy is getting you either if I was in your shoes.

FYI, I just tinted the windows on the Starfire Pearl with Alpine and it looks awesome !!! I'd chose that over the Black on white. Just my 2 cents...
