thumping?

Definitely not the norm. My wife has a Jaguar S-Type and it was doing something very similar at low low speeds, around 10 to 15 mph and it was a bent rim believe it or not. You might jack the car off the ground and check the run out on the wheels for anything noticable.

So after thinking a bit I remember this happening to an older car of mine when i first started driving. It was a bushing issue. so i went to check oit the F this morning at 1:00am...Fun right. took the wheel off and checked and rechecked every bushing and tie point at the wheel. this thing is solid.nothing shifts ,rocks or moves. so im hoping its a blown out strut but then i was thinking my car would sag a bit on that side right (correct me if im wrong) but i even went as far as to measur the gap on both sides,dead even. put the wheel back on took a ride streets were empty so i could get a better read on the noise...nothing. i couldnt replicate it again. ill take it out today and try again just to make sure.

Just a note. I use to deal with Lexus Wayzata in Minneapolis. the service associate i would always deal with Chris Doyal was alwas honest and stright forward. i would even have them to all my upgrade work on my IS300. I called him to see what the standard service inspection charge would be for this issue. about $55 to drive the car and get under it for a visual. before this i called Lexus of Glendale California and the service guy i talked to quoted me $170 for the same. must say im glad i checked but very disapointed in the price discrepency.

Ahhhh the lovely noise is back. Im on the bike alot so ill get around to taking it to lexus next week and keep you all posted.

aaahhh!!! Thought you had it. I don't really have any better suggestion than to bring it to the Lexus dealership to get it checked out. I would question the Cali dealership for sure as to why the price disparity. i know they probably charge a buttload for the hourly fee, but I wouldn't expect them to need anything more than an hour as long as the sound is easily replicated.

How often do you hear the thumping noise? Is it constant or only when on rough roads. Is your car lowered? Any other pertinant info? I'll call a mech buddy of mine and see what he thinks.

I have the same problem...I'm pretty sure it's your brake pads shifting back and forth. I need to lube up my pads to see if it'll go away but haven't had the time...Darshana S...

no mods all stock. i appreciate the help. I called another lexus dealership (Lexus of Cerritod) and there price was higher than Glerndale and i explained the price between minn and cali difference to that service guy and he said "well you have to use alot of gas to get back to minneapolis" I hung up on him.WTF! so all info you can get would be great.

WOW a Lexus dealer said that. That would compel me to contact Lexus North America and ensure that conversation was relayed WITH NAMES. Thats BS!!!!

I may just do that. ive never done service outside of a lexus dealership but these past two weeks has made me reconsider.

My mother and father in law bought three cars from Lexus of Wayzata and have had excellent luck with the service there. Unfortunately, when they tried buy a used Lexus there a couple of months ago they treated them like crap. So much for their loyal patronage.

It seems like everything is ridiculously expensive in California. I guess it is nice nice weather tax

interesting....i tried to deal with one of there used car guys to try and deal on an IS350 just before i found my F. he was a seriously pushy prick. if it were not for him I probably would not have my F but a 350. because of his attitude i left and went back to on line shopping founr the F in St Louis.

took some video of the front wheel a couple days ago. thing was bouncing all over the place.Finally had the car looked at today. blown front shock. going to replace both. considering just lowering the front while im at it.$$$$$$$$$$ grrrrrrrrrr
