Hey Folks, there is an event called The Texas Mile. Its an abandoned air strip by San Antonio TX and they put on a flat out 1 mile run about 2 to 3 times a year. I am planning on heading out there and ripping my F loose on it. Hopefully it hits 168+ :D.
For anyone interested in attending its Oct 21 to 23 2011. Registration is in August but you have to be quick as it fills up fast. Go to www.texasmile.net for more info and hope to see a few guys out there.

I may go to watch. How far of a drive is it for you? I am about 75 miles southeast of you.

Are you running stock?
Yes, mine is stock with the exception on the Takeda intake. The drive time from DFW looks to be maybe 5 hours. Check out YouTube for some vids of past meets. Pretty cool.

Just a follow up. I got registered for the Texas Mile yesterday. I can not find any other ISF that has gone down the track so maybe this will be a first. I will record inside and out and share after we get back. The Mile is being run in Beeville, Texas October 21st to the 23rd. Travel time from DFW is about 6 hours not 5. We are going to see what a stock ISF will do flat out. Wish me luck.

Good luck Andy...unfortunately Vegas calling during that weekend. Do let us know the times you manage and the cars you see. Do post pics. Maybe next year for me.

Cheers,
Preetham
Good luck Andy. Wish I could make it, but it's a bit of a drive from Oak Harbor WA. Keep us posted.
Well I went and had a great time. There are some amazing cars out there. GT-R's, GT40's, Lambos, Vipers, BMW's, AMG's, CTS V's, You name it. OK heres the skinny. Mine is stock with the exception of the Takeda intake. The car ran a best of 154.1 with a strong head wind. This car is capable of 158 -160 in one mile flat out. That is smoking guys let me tell ya. This was the ONLY Lexus out there and it was faster than 80 percent of the cars, including the Vetts and some of the stock Vipers. Stock Shelby GT500's as well as Camaros and Challengers and no where near it. Heck even a stock GTR was at 160 in the head wind. I will post some vids as soon as I get a chance. I have some in car and speedo video.
I highly encourage all of you to try and get to the Texas Mile, its simply something you have to see and do. Plus I am in the 150 MPH club now and there and not very many cars that can do this in 1 short mile in stock trim.

Here ya go guys, Enjoy.

Congrats Andy, looks fun speeding legally. We will see more manufactures copying the 8speed tranny with the type of success Toyota has seen with this transmission.
I completely forgot about it. I wanted to go to watch. Looks like a great time.
Thank you so much for posting that!!! I'm in Dallas and would LOVE to get down there!!
