New model is unchanged from 08 except new instrument cluster
Nice pics, too bad I can't read the text.
How is the instrument cluster different for the 09?

How did you make the determination that the instrument cluster is different?
If you were looking at the picture it seems to be the same as the 08. the only difference that I could see was the primary speedometer was in kilometers instead of miles per hour.
Hard to tell for sure, but do I see turn indicator lights just under each "F" symbol on the front quarter panel area? If so, I've always wondered why our
'08 models didn't come with that cool feature.

Repeaters are typically euro-spec.

VW's and other German cars often have them when imported to the US.
The pictures definitely reflect and export model. The side lights are required for cars shipped to many foreign countries.
As for any changes to the 09 model, my guess is there will be none. With limited production of these cars, changing the interior or exterior would involve significant expense, inevitably increasing the price. Why change a good thing! Lexus is noted for minimal changes from year to year. I would speculate that more time is being devoted toward developing prototypes such as the ISF coupe and the LFA. Just my opinion!

This is true, as I stated before the IS-F is now being considered a replacement for the now defunct SC430 which is not being manufactured anymore. And those pics ARE a european spec, I have a book on the Japanese models and it's the same vehicle, for some reason only cars that come to the states (any manufacturer) are a little different in appearence and speed with the gov. limiter
No idea how accurate it is, but the September 08 edition of "Car and Driver" lists all the new changes for the car models and says the only thing changing on the IS-F is the instrument cluster....Guess we will just have to wait and see :)
I think it's not going to be a huge change, just a little updated....
Only thing I see so far is the 09's have the optional black with red interior available with the black exterior, and pricing has not been set yet...
To clarify the update on the center console area by the nav screen, the buttons will be the ones that will have a different look. It will still retain the same functions and button locations, just the look and shape of the buttons will change....somewhat reminiscent of the current generation LS with the square/flat/angluar buttons.

Sweet!! Thanks for the update, I was wondering about what was going to change!!

Welcome, but you stated this before? This is your first post here.

As for US Spec IS-F vs. the JDM and Euro Spec IS-F, we here in the US don't get the front fender side markers or the polished & graphite bbs wheel as regular equipment. The polished/graphite wheel was available to the limited special build Nieman Marcus Edition which there were 50 of them. We also do not get the gray birds eye maple wood trim option unlike in Japan. Other than that and the metric vs standard numerics in the speedo and etc, it's exactly the same.
