The demise of Formula One

I loved watching this racing series as it represented the best drivers, technical tracks, and technology in one series. So sad to see what it is becoming...

Pretty much all the big teams are threatening to quit now. Really too bad if it comes to this.
We will lose a significant technology thinktank if that is the case. Nothing pushes innovation like competition at the highest level. I would agree that a budget cap would be the last straw for those guys. Unbelievable how things get ruined over time.

Fig
The folks running the show have tried to bring in more teams(by making it more affordable) for a while now...i hope and believe that this controversy will pass and it will be back to business soon.
The fact that Ferrari is supplying engines to A1 plus their 599s as its pace cars, leads me to think that they are seriously considering another series. For me Ferrari=F1, no Ferrari in F1 means the demise of the series.
I remember the battles between Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen. That was why I was excited, and looked forward to each race. Now they are making a NASCAR out of F1. Really sucks..
dont worry the team owners eventually will take control of the series and lay the boots to bernie e and his men
Actually technical freedom within the rules is what F1 desperately needs.
Keep in mind these team owners are the consumate capitalists and only know the meaning of profit they dont like it when people are telling them how things will be done , the only reason they left bernie alone all these years is because bernie has made them all filthy rich. Now the margins are down someone will be fired by unanimus vote

I agree, Bernie the hustler and Max the S&M freak will have to come to terms with some things.

On the other hand if budget caps come in it seems that a few teams are looking at entering F1. David Richards of Prodrive, an american team, and Lola are likely to join. Now that could be interesting.
If Ferrari is out, that could mean less competition by the time USA gets their team on the track! ;)
