There is a recent vid on youtube someplace where some guy in his IS-F races a tuned 335i and a new M3. Do a search for IS-F and sort by date added. From watching the vid it looks like the M3 and IS-F were pretty evenly matched. Not sure though if the IS-F was in manual sport mode or not.
