FBTO, don't worry you will do fine. I suggest do a few laps alone in both auto and manual ( sport of course) and see where you'll be quicker. We did a comparo here and the F was more than a second quicker than the M3.

Godd luck and keep us posted. Nothing like hearing the F dethroning the M (again).

Well you guys need to do this correctly or else it will be weak. First of all I have yet to hear of a track you will go to.? Mosport, MT. Tremblat, others I do not remember. Speak up with true game. Do not race on the street. You guys are into Sportbikes per your pics on track. So keep it legal but please make us proud FBTO... The Bimmers are counting on you to lack driving skill.... So get it done. The ISF would prefer Mosport. Shannonville is M3 all day. Nurnbergring, I would prefer the lexus ISF. MY ZX10 was at the Ring in 2004 & said aufwiedersehn to Honda 954 often....

First, good luck with the race, no doubt you will beat the car in a drag as well as a straight light, but in the end you will be neck and neck probably about the quarter mile or so, even more, but longer run i think the m3 will pull out stronger, i raced my friends e92 and we were neck and neck, but track time i have no clue, but should be a very good race.

If the m3 is stock, I have a feeling you will win. If the m3 has a xpipe, pulleys, chip, scoops etc then I'm pretty sure you will lose. If it's DCT it will be faster and post much more reliable speeds in a straight line

I have been practising, but I am not sure if it is going to happen this weekend. Looks like 70% rain on Sat. We will have to see if that changes.

Well, it didn't rain (at least here in California). So, what happened?

Major thunderstorms!! We need to reschedule.

There is a recent vid on youtube someplace where some guy in his IS-F races a tuned 335i and a new M3. Do a search for IS-F and sort by date added. From watching the vid it looks like the M3 and IS-F were pretty evenly matched. Not sure though if the IS-F was in manual sport mode or not.

Well, I finally made it out to the drag strip on Friday. I raced another guy, not the guy I was originally going to race. He has the new M3 coupe. We ran together about 8 times. I beat him every time! Maybe he was not used to the car. I went back to the M3 board and asked who was next. They didn't like that, so I now I have another 3 M3's that want a piece of me! So I told them to bring it!!

My best time was 13.207 at 108 mph. And my best Reaction time was .071. This was the first time I ever drag raced!! But I think I now know a few ways to improve that time.

Going to do some road racing this Friday, and there are a few M3's coming to that event...so we will see how that goes!
