Taking Delivery of Ultrasonic Blue/White ISF this week + mystery claims from dealer

Hi everyone,

I just signed up, nice forum. Anyway I am extremely excited to be turning in my 645ci this week and picking up my Blue and white isf. I went to Lexus of Las Vegas last week with my friend who was closing out a deal on an is350. While there I test drove one of three isfs they just got in stock (smokey granite, pearl white, and silver) and was obviously blown away. I was considering spending a lot more money on a new car, considering a M6 or even Masterati GT coupe. But after driving the ISF it just felt like it would be more "fun" and I figured I could wait until I was a bit older to shell out 100k+.

While test driving the salesman mentioned that next week (this coming week) they were getting in a special reward isf from the factory for selling more cars than anyone else in their area. He said it would be an ultrasonic blue isf with special white inteior w/ blue stitching. Any claims like this coming from a car salesman go in one ear and out the other as a policy for me. My focus was on whether or not I wanted the ISF. Anyway, I decided I did and figured I'd go with the Blue b/c it is meant to be a fun car so why not?

I just figured I am getting the Blue exterior with the two tone black and white interior, and this is still my assumption. But I found it strange that these guys kept making claims like - this is the only one on the west coast of the US, etc. Again I figured it was all sales talk and didn't mind b/c the black/white interior is just fine with me! Finally I closed the deal friday and handed them over the cash, at which point my salesman came in yet again and said "our manager just wanted us to remind you that you are going to have the only car with this interior on the west coast."

The last part peeked my interest b/c it was after I already bought the car. Is there a chance that I am getting a configuration not readily available? It would be sweet but like I said I will not be disappointed either way, I just want an isf!

Anyone hear any rumors about this? There is a chance that there just aren't many blue w/ two tone white out there and it could be leading to my confusion.

Anyway, Thanks for reading this long winded post and I will be sure to add pics and other info to these forums once I get it!

-B

ps - one more thing I just remembered, he went so far as to claim that they will not longer be producing my configuration??? The more I remember about our convo the more confused I am getting. hehe

Did you have to get rid of the bimmer 6er for this car? I have a black/black ISF, but couldn't part with my '07 650i so I kept both of them. To different types of cars, IMO. Oh well, congrats! You'll like it alot. Don't know about the special threads/colors except for the Neiman Marcus version. Sorry

My wife drives our IS-F so I only get behind the wheel about once every week or so:( .

All I know is that Europe won't get Ultrasonic Blue for the exterior and only all black interiors, but I guess that's not entirely relevant.

Hi John,

No that wasn't a concern. This was my first car purchase, the 6 series was my first lease. I am at the end of my lease next month and although there is a small chance I will buy it out (if the offer is good), I just felt like trying something new. Like I said if I were to stay with BMW I think I may have gotten a m6. I've loved my 6 series dearly but my plan is to buy the isf, keep it as long as it holds my interest and then lease either a bimmer or maserati down the road. I am only 25 yo and single, so it does not make a lot of sense for me to have two cars right now.

Also my 645 is '05 so I am 3 years deep into ownership and although I am sure you will love your 650 til the end, you may not be QUITE as enthusiastic in 2 years when some hot new option comes on the market :).

I have always wanted a "fun" and "sporty" car, was looking at m3 when I got the 645 and just fell in love with the ISF once I got inside, felt the drive, and heard the mark levinson audio system.

Perhaps not entirely relevant, but interesting nevertheless. This makes up for all the times I have been jealous of your german sports car options! ;)
Sorry to inform you that there are a couple of Blue/white

on the West Coast as reported on another IS F Web site, several in CA....

If the picure posts it was taken by the guy as he was picking his car up in California a couple of weeks ago....

Still a great looking car but tell the Dealer to get their story straight....

Yeah like I said, I am not concerned either way. I did know there would be blue and white isfs, they were just implying I was getting ALL white interior instead of two tone, but obviously ill find out this week for sure.
Congratulations on your purchase of IS-F!

Your IS-F probably is the only one with white interior that was retailed in West coast. Lexus currently is NOT making IS-F with white interiors although Lexus Area Sales offices have bunch of them as quality control units. Lexus is not 100% sure how white interior will hold up in a long run so they produced a bunch and gave them to their Area Sales offices so their employees can drive them around and see how it holds up.

Enjoy your IS-F with beautiful interior!
woah,

Nice choice, and sweet dealersip. I was in vegas for the F champ training and they had a IS F event there. shoe shine booth, and complete accessories store inside the dealership.Congrats-

Yeah, this was a concern of mine too, especially living in Las Vegas (lots of dust = bad for white leather). That is why I sprang for the leather sealant and protection package. They told me up to 3 years or something they will guarantee the leather holds up and replace it if it deteriorates.

I just plan on having it detailed often to keep the leather looking good.
Great move! It's a beautiful interior but with blue stiches you don't know how well it will hold up. I also hope you went for wheel and tire protection on your new IS-F. Those BBS wheels and Pilot P2 tires are very expensive.
...it's worth every penny

One option I should have got. I thought I had bundled into the deal but I guess not. Now I am waiting on a replacement left front tire. The wheel is fine but the tire didn't make it. Hit this pesky pothole in NY. I have the RE050A which are one of the hardest things to get. My dealer was able to find one contact in Cali who had a few in stock. I should be back on the road hopefully in 7days but I may swap out the RE050A for P2's instead.

Yes, that was the only other package I got and was even able to negotiate $400 off.. hehe
Nice combo.

Originally went for that one but backed out last minute and went with the Black interior with Dark blue stiching.

White seats will be a pain to keep clean and not sure they will age well at all.
Also the white back seats with the black armrest section did not do it al all for me.

So i played it safe, went with the black interior/blue stiching which looks awesome.

A rare combo you got, but definitely not unique, many cars are spec'ed like that around the US.

Enjoy.

Waiting for my car ..... i also hope I get the PS2's ....and not the RE050A....

I've just ran locator on IS-F with white interior and there is only one in Northern Eastern Area. It looks like it's seating at the port to be
processed through the customer to be sent to its dealership. Therefore, it is a very unique vehicle that you have right now! There will be more on
the road in the future, but Lexus is not building them except for special occasions to be retailed yet. It's always great when you know you are the
FIRST ONE to have that interior if not the only one in your area :)
