supercharged 0-60 numbers

This is just a small list of cars with superchargers who have increased their sixty numbers and for those who think that the IS-F will actually stay the same 0-60...I think you are wrong in my opinion. I found over 20 cars with an increase in numbers when supercharged 0-60 so I can list them as well but my point is made.

I hope anyone who pays 10 grand for a supercharger doesn't do so for decreased performance numbers!

Interesting numbers, thanks for the info! :D

The Audi R8 is
I sold my Shelby GT500 because it was just way too heavy upfront and had too many antiquated ideas. It was OK for straight line performance but thats all. My decision to purchase the IFS was spot on for my desires of a true all around vehicle, that accomplishes any performance task with ease.

Hopefully with the "F" it'll get 0-60 times in a 3.8-4.2 sec and 1/4 in 12.6-13.1
considering it's lighter than the Caddy.Whatever it may be a s/c will definitely help with the speed of the car, bigger tires and the right intake/exhaust it'll eat up the Caddy!! Ok maybe just a little snack!!
Look at Old$parts and BigMikeIsf TWINS !!!! :D
Old$parts-
I am curious as to your opinion on F vs Mustang in daily driving (like back in school, compare & contrast). Looks like i will buy an F in the Spring, not sure if i'll trade my Mustang GT convertible or not.. nice to have the 'vert, but the Mustang lacks the comfort & toys i'd like. Your opinion?
Thanks, Jeremiah
Axtellz,
Here are ten cons:

1. GT interior and dash appears to be cheap looking and outdated. It needs a complete workover in design.

2. GT handling... it plows into corners.

3. The rear needs to be udated with possibly independent suspension.

4. The manual transmission became too much! Shifting at almost every intersection became a real exercise in futility. The 8 speed transmission won me over, besides, the 8 speed shifts faster everytime and is much more fun to drive.

5. The ISF is faster in all aspects and doesn't draw attention by law enforcement like the GT500.

6. Lexus build quality and reliability is much superior to the GT500.

7. ISF is limited production vehicle about 2733 made for the states as compared to approximately 10,000 Shelby GT500s made in 2007 and another 10,000 being made in 2009. Go figure!

8. Gas guzzler tax $1300 vs. $0.00 for the Lexus ISF

9 Top speed limited to around 140 mph vs. Lexus ISF approximately 172mph.

10. GT500 already supercharged vs. Lexus ISF room for even more power.

These are just a few reasons.

Hope this helps!

11. "market adjustment" by dealers!! Not as bad as the GT-R, but c'mon..

Dunno if i'll ever come across the difference in top speed, tho it's fun to know it's there, i guess!
Thanks, that's basically what i've thought. I noticed yesterday- my kid's Ford Fusion seems to have less panel gaps than the Mustang:-(

Agreed apon, but .....I must say because it's a limited car only the people that read or know about the car, when they see it their in awe. It's DEFINITELY an eye catcher and I haven't met anybody who doesn't like it!! So yes the GT500 is nice but nowhere as nice as the "F". Chics luv the car :D

Yes, the females do love the car ;) It is quite the eye catcher I must say, I get stopped or thumbs up all the time or even people asking me what it is, not to mention people who want to race and don't know what they're getting into (had a nice little run with a corvette last night, good story ).

Personally, I see a mustang on the road now and I'm just like ohh, another mustang, there are so many, but more limited production cars like the F, I'm like well thats sick

P.S. Smoke, yup, we're twins, with pretty similar avatar shots :D
Mustangs are "me to" cars....I.e. I used to own a mustang, yeah me to! I just don't know what the boys over at ford are smoking...making a 500 hp stang that can't even break 13 in the 1/4 mile. No one takes that car serious, and you already see too many on the street.

:D :D Poor Mustang Drivers!! Getting sh**ed on by F drivers and god knows who else!!
american cars are straight like cars, but cant handle for sh1t in a corner. that and you get what you play for in terms of cheapo plastic materials. one of the few american cars worth owning is a z06, and you would think that they would incorporate some of those characteristics into their other vehicles.

a supercharger will improve your 0-60 as i previously stated, but not by that much. example 1. the E46M3. 0-60 is 4.8 seconds stock at 333bhp. with a Active Gen 3 kit, you are now making closer to 550-600 bhp, depending on if you map the car for 91/93. you have close to twice as much power, yet your 0-60 only gets better to 4.1 over a STOCK m3? letme just throw in you can get your 0-60 from 4.8 down to about 4.3 without doing ANY power mods, just gettingyourself gears. a 4.10 limited slip differential will get you off the line that much faster.

so lets examine this again

STOCK m3 WITH GEARS 0-60 4.3 seconds
AA S/C Stg3 M3 0-60 4.1 seconds

you may be thinking well why wouldnt i be even faster with gears on a Stg3? because when you make that much power, you will need to go back to the stock gears, which in this case is a 3.64. if you had 4.10s and a Stg3 supercharger, youd never get that power to the ground or be able to shift in time. all you would be doing is spinning in place basically.

so lets take this a step further and say u went to an HPF 750 turbo kit. yes folks thats 750bhp. you now have almost 2 1/2 times the power you did stock. do you know what HPF claims their kit to be in terms of 0-60? 4.1. just like the AAStg3. now you ask, how does a car with 200 more hp do the same 0-60? reason. traction. with 750hp, you will not be able to go full throttle off the line. if you look at the 1/4 mile, stock m3 runs about a 13.3, the stg3 runs about a 12.1, and the hp750 i believe crossed the line at 11.954

there was a graph i saw on m3forums one time about optimal gearing for X amount of power in that car. ill see if i can have a buddy email it to me so i can post it. very interesting.

I started this thread to show examples of forced induction cars all improving their 0-60 numbers over stock; Not to envoke run on sentences and discertations regarding a washed up and almost forgotten platform like the E46 M3! With all do respect no one cares about BMWs in here...this is a lexus IS F forum. Feel free to start your own thread discussing discontinued cars, but the purpose of my thread was to get a glimpse of performance numbers us "IS F" owners could expect from a supercharger...not gearing differences from a feeble 6 cylinder.
