so i'm driving in town, and this regular cab sierra, with a body kit, and some small ass tires starts to pace me, and he is bucking his truck with the throttle, obviously in a low gear. we get to some lights, and he's sitting there loading up on his brakes, me and my friend are just like "wtf is with this kid" so whatever my friend is like, humor him, so im like fine, waste of gas, but i like my intake sound so yay. so light goes green, i dont even launch the car just go brake, gas, go and he's trying like hell to launch his truck. so he got a jump for like .000001 seconds....and i was up by like 5 cars by the time i hit 100, at which point i braked back down to the speed limit of 60.......aaaand he comes flying by like the douchebag that he is. just another example of people, and kids, not knowing what an ISF is and what it can do. he probably thinks his truck is fast....and it probably is against other trucks.

nuff said. lol

edit: the speeds are in km/h by the way.....

Similar experience happened to me past Saturday where I was at 695 some stupid ******* in his Chevy(My Oldman owns a Chevy BTW also I'm korean

) is cutting people off left and right..So Eventually I caught up to him without trying(Driving without Sport mode or manual mode)by the time he saw me pulling up he sped up to race me..Long story short, Sport mode on with manual and just flew by him at least 10 car lengths ahead..He was mad..look on his face was priceless..

That's the best look of all. I love doing it to mustang people. Although most are chickens and won't race for some reason.

i prefer corvettes and porsches =)

Just to see how I keep up with them... they are quite surprised...

come on,

whether you want to admit it or not, everyone on this board must love the fact that they can beat 99% of the cars on the road at any stage of a "race"....i know i do.

the best part is that the F flies so below the radar. if you look in your rearview mirror at just the right time, you can catch the open jawed expression on the beaten driver's face.

i demolished a hemi charger the other day, and you know those guys think they own the road.

Pick 'em truck driver says: Uhhh, . . why would you waste your gas and put the wear and tear on your car to race me in my old pick up truck? Shouldn't you be racin' those fancy M3's, Audi RS4's and C63's? Oh well, I guess it's just like me beatin' on the smallers kids in high school. It's still fun to know I owned 'em even if I knew it was never a contest.

This is an embarrassing story on both sides.

theres this kid around town that has a turbo cobalt. he's done quite a bit of work to it so its putting out around 320hp compared to the factory 260hp. i guess he's been asking around seeing if people think he could win. the consensus is that he could not. he was smack talkin me tellin me if he had "60,000" to blow on a car, he would have got a 50,000 camaro ss. he doesnt know how much an ISF actually costs. he's completely sure that a 426hp, 400ft-lb camaro would be faster, cuz it has more hp and torque. at this point i stopped talking to him cuz i didnt feel like explaining what makes a car go fast.

one day he'll try to pace me.....then he will get ripped apart.

News flash! Lexus IS F faster than a pickup truck! This is an embarrassing story.

your an embarrassing story. did u not read the part about him bucking and then loading up on the brakes. i semi-know this kid and he has a reputation for thinking his truck is the fastest thing on the streets. his truck is a 2006, sierra with a 5.3 vortec, chipped, intake, exhaust, probably making 350-360hp. so i can understand him thinking it is fast-ish. and it weighs around 4300lbs as well.

the whole point of the story is, he didnt have a clue. its not like i was lookin for a race, he just needed to be shown.

Exactly Brother!! I raced so many sh** cans with fancy exhaust and intake and I just tear them apart..Especially around my neighborhood the ones with Maximas or Altimas think they're the sh** when in reality they're SH**!!

I have so many douchbags in stangs rubbing their engines..SAD! VERY SAD!

BTW I raced a Camaro SS and I don't think they're that Fast! Don't get me wrong they're fast for the money anyone is paying but it's not specular as everyone is making it out to be..

Long story short don't talk trash, show some modesty this way if you lose or win in a race you look humble no matter what the outcome is..

I think what is surprising is how well the ISF puts its power down. It should actually be a bit slower than it is when just considering power and weight. The quick shifting 8 speed probably has a little to do with this.

By the way, my best victory was pulling on a 2004 Audi RS6. It was close though...that car is fast! He got the jump on me in the first roll-on and stayed about 1 car length ahead. On the second roll-on though, I got a slight jump on him, but kept pulling until I was 4+ car lengths ahead.

ANYTHING can be made faster than the IS F. My point is you gotta resist the temptation and not be racing anyone that comes along just because they're stepping hard on the gas of their trash and manure haulin' pickup, or Civic Si, or twin turbo'd Camry, or whatever. Putting people in their place? Pleeease? You still won't convince them even after you won. You gotta ignore the little freaks. You are driving an expensive, fast, luxury car and not some freakish thing that can do low 11's in the quarter mile and can't do anything else. Your car can do it all so be smart and and resist the street racing temptation.

Wise thing to do! Now if I could just resist the temptation..LOL! Actually, my wife puts me on check all the time. Thank God for her!

Dont make it sound like I race everything now, I actually dont race in my car, I go to Atcoraceway and run it once in a while when a bunch of my goofy friends wants to have fun. My 11month old daughter is in my Lexus all the time I go out, so I drive rather normal, Im just trying to point out a STOCK diesel pick up truck with a little chip in it can be very fast, thus dont think that the F is faster than everything you see on the Road. thats all....
