Hey Just curious to know how many ass holes try to race you on a day to day basis.

For me the worse was last night. I was at a red light on the phone with my GF going to drop off my little sister at her friends house when a 335i pulls up next to me. He's in the right turn lane only trying to cut me off. Light turns green he hits the gas i hit the gas but i had to slam the breaks otherwise he would've killed himself since their was a car in front of him. He was so proud of himself im sure he went and told all his buddies that he smoked an ISF. What a loser just pissed me off. Anyways just wanted to vent; anyone else have stories they need to vent on?????????????? LOL :D :D :D :D

I have discovered, perhaps with a little disappointment, that most people, even those with fast(ish) cars, do not seem to know what the IS-F is. I have had people clearly checking it out, but most just see Lexus IS and do not seem to think twice. Until I zoom past them!

I would not mind a couple red light drag races but none yet. Of course, I would stay well within the speed limit!

I have noticed the same thing. My dad just bought a base Porsche Cayman (I know, i know. I begged him not to, but he said it was enough car for him) and always has people trying to race him. I have yet to have anyone even notice my car besides a neighbor that stopped and inquired about the F when I was washing it.

I don't really mind. I don't need some teenager killing himself on the freeway trying to see if he can outrun an F. A short stoplight drag would be fun if the conditions were safe enough for it, but otherwise I've pretty much given up street racing. I'm lucky i survived my high school years and the F is twice as powerful as an car I had back then.
I must agree that in general people do not know what the F can do. I've had a few BMWs and 350Zs pull up wanting to race, thinking I have a 250 or 350.

But that's why I love the F....the look on the face when they realize it's not a 250 or 350 ---- F'n priceless!
Interesting stories fellas! I had the F for a almost a year come march 31st and people are finally noticing what the F is about!
But race wise I NEVER punch it on the local way b/c it's very dangerous although I do take it on the highway..Long story short I'm only one with the F in my way and most peeps around here doesn't bother trying to race me..
Besides nowadays race something that's worthy of the F's league..
GT500, M3(E92) C63 etc..not those freakin rice rockets of Civics,Sti's or Evo's..
And even if they're worthy of racing odds are it's heavily modded..
I have had a few people try to step up too me but they were just punks in beaters that would have been a waste of my time. I've humored a few but they really did not have a chance. The funniest one though was when I was test driving the car, my saleswomen was with me at the time and sort of encouraged me to smoke him :D
There's a stretch of road by me where the speed limit is 65 and the road is straight and gloriously traffic-free most of the time. It has stoplights all along the way so I do like to flex the engine when I am first in line at a red. State troopers swarm it, though, so I take it 0-80 but that's all I have the stomach for. I don't need tickets!
I was actually out in the F today. Had her one some back roads and I ran into a Bike. I'm not sure what the make was but it was differently a smaller bike. I decided to try to play with him a little and he was all for it. About three turns in I got tired of staying on his ass so I passed him on an exit of a turn and he never caught back up.:D
I get it all the time, Chargers, mustangs, I even had a durango try it once, Country dudes with camo and trucker hats, was pretty funny, I didn't ablige but then they started driving crazy and I got out of there in a hurry....Thank You IS-F.
+1 to what everyone said about no one knowing what the F is. There are quite a few people who have no idea or clue what it is. I actually had a guy pull up at an intersection and ask me what type of body kit I had on my 350...

I usually don't race but have run into a few nice cars here and there that have wanted to mess around. Perhaps the coolest run was against an Aston Martin Vantage (older version, probably 2005-2006). He pulled up with his girlfriend in the front seat and downshifted so I did the same. I was surprised I was able to get a pull on him and by about 120 I was a half car length ahead. I don't think he knew how to drive the thing honestly but who knows. Haven't seen him around sense :) Other then the few cool runs, it's been mostly rice rockets and kids in hondas wanting to hear it and see what it can do (which I don't race). I also get the occasional ask for a rev at a stoplight :D

I'm not that surprised you pulled on the Aston. They are beautiful cars, but very heavy and their engines are a bit peaky from what I have read.
Not the smartest move!

Tapout says its founder Charles (Mask) Lewis dies in car crash

Newport Beach Police did not identify Lewis but confirmed a male in a badly damaged red Ferrari was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A female occupant ejected from the car was taken to a hospital in Santa Ana where she was listed in stable condition.

Newport Beach police said in a statement that at approximately 12:57 a.m. Pacific time, an off-duty officer saw the Ferrari and a white Porsche "spinning out of control, possibly the result of a collision."

The Ferrari struck the curb and then a light pole. The Porsche briefly stopped at the scene but then drove away, police said.

Police said they subsequently found the white Porsche and then saw a man and a woman walking away from the vehicle.

Jeffrey David Kirby, 51, of Costa Mesa, Calif., was arrested and booked for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with bail set at US$1 million, police said. The woman was arrested for public intoxication and was later released.

"The cause of the collision is currently under investigation," police said

I have had a couple encounters. First was an M3. Not a red light drag but I tailed him since he was acting like he had the best car or something. I stuck him good. Other time it was a sti which I smoked. And just a couple days ago, a last genration 330i saw my car and floored it. I didn't want to waste my time with a 330i so I stuck with him, passed him and then sent him on his way. HAHAHAHA:cool:
I do agree that most people will not know what the ISF is, it's a question I get a lot. But most people (younger crowd) in my area have nice cars and always try to race me. Sometimes i just feel like not going fast. I dont know that may be just me. But definetly have gotten a lot of laughs out of the expressions people have when i pass them by or when they really start looking at the car.

I can't go fast right now in the city I drive in most because I'm on probation. I got my first ticket in years the first week I owned the F. Sad thing is I wasn't going that fast and was with a big pack of cars. Unfortunately, the F apparently stands out the local LEOs.

I'm kinda with you on this, sort of..My thing is I ADMIT that I speed excessively on the highway going about 80-100MPH but ironically I get pulled over for doing 30 MPH on 25 zone on the way local way and b/c of it I got a ticket for $90 with possibility of 2 points or so..Crazy huh? Life works crazy ways sometimes..
Here are my encounters. All happened today!

This morning and got off the freeway to go to school. There was an STi crossing the street and heading towards school and the driver looks over at me as he drives by and gives me the peace sign.

Was driving around Anaheim this evening and a passenger in a Corolla tells his sister or GF or whatever about the F. They're right behind me. And I saw him take a pic of the F from my rear view mirror.

Then had dinner at Sonics. There was a small Scion meet I guess and they watched me drive by. I then pulled into one of the bays. There were these 2 S14s that drove by behind me, stopped, revved their car to show off their BOV and drove away. Idiots!

I never complain about getting a ticket. I know I drive over the speed limit pretty much all the time when the conditions warrant, so even if I didn't actually deserve a ticket when I got one there are plenty of times before I should have been ticketed and wasn't.
I haven't had any real encounters, but I get lots of "thumbs up" from people next to me. I think the 2nd day I had the F, I saw someone behind me taking a picture with their camera phone.
Best one was when I was in hollywood, and 3 guys in a brand new bmw 650 drove alongside me and complimented me on the car. I didn't return the favor. ;)

I tend to drive with a very heavy right foot. I was thinking about getting the g-tech device. http://www.gtechpro.com/
My buddy says it turns every stop light into a drag race. I probably shouldn't get it, but may end up anyways. I love the tech gadgets!
