Stock ISF Dyno Numbers

I have seen at least one thread here that has dyno numbers for the ISF in stock trim. I believe the numbers were 357 horsepower and 333 lb/ft to the rear wheel.

I dyno'd my ISF at Infinite Speed and Performance (ISP) in Beltsville, MD last night at a Supra, S2000, etc meet. My best run was my second, where the car pulled 332.28 Max HP and 309.19 Max Torque. I was wondering if anybody else who has dyno'd their ISF stock could post numbers.

My numbers seem low, but a couple guys at the meet told me that the ISP Dyno reads about 8 percent lower than reality. This seems about right since a new E90 M3 with an exhaust that went before me only dyno'd a best of 317 horsepower. I did a little searching on the internet and found that the M3 typically dyno's stock around 340 RWHP.

Anyway, I would appreciate anybody else who would post their ISF dyno numbers.

I have numbers for stock and K&N+Joe Z exhaust. I will put them up this week-end on a new thread.
My numbers were very low too I believe it has more to do with the temp/humidity combo we face on the east coast. Most dyno #'s on our forum are comming from Az/midwest (dry) and Cali. (cool and dry).

Good stuff...thanks.
I can easily tell you that on a DynoJet dyno'd in 6th gear with smoothing set to 5 and all VSC and TRAC turned off..

You will end up being in the 350 rwhp range..

I have also see similiar Dynojets with similiar parameters Dyno in at the 333 rwhp mark.. at different shops..

Sounds to me you are in the right ball park..

What kinda of Dyno do they own?? and did they dyno in 6th gear??

I got 336 whp and 336 for torque, pure stock, on 3rd gear . This was on Dyna Pack. I still have to do another run now that I have a Joe Z intake, TRD drop in air filter, and Borla Cat back.

u need to run it in 6th.
in 6th gear bone stock mine did 365rwhp. comparing that to any other dyno is useless though. i plan to go back sometime as i now have a k&n and hope to have someones catback in the coming months.
ISP has the complete in-ground dyno that can dyno front, rear, and all wheel drive. I don't know what gear they dyno'd the ISF in. I am pretty sure though that pass 1 was a lower gear than pass 2 and 3. Pass 1 was 334 hp and 280 torque, pass 2 was 332 hp and 309 torque, pass 3 was 331 hp and 306 torque. I will scan in my dyno sheet.

For pass 1 the power curve peaked at about 87 mph. For passes 2 and 3 the power curve goes off the paper, but I am guessing it peaked about 100 mph. I will have to calculate what gear tops out just past 100 mph...and that is what gear ISP used for passes 2 and 3.
If the speed (mph) numbers were accurate at the bottom of the graph on my dyno sheet, pass 1 was run in 3rd gear, and passes 2 and 3 were run in 4th gear.
Can the ISF even hit redline in 6th gear on the dyno without removing the governor? Redline limited top speed in 6th should be 179 mph. The ISF is governed to 170 mph correct? Just curious.

What determines the best gear to dyno a car in?

All my same questions! :)
Durring my last dyno session-
The fellow behind the wheel hit redline'ish or the beeping sound in 6th gear, said the cluster showed 177mph.
The shop guys got a good laugh because he has driven my car faster than I ever have and never moved an inch.
for me i was hitting the speed limiter and not the rev limiter. didn't notice what exact speed it was reading though (if higher than 170).

NO

Yes

The gear closest to a 1:1 ratio..

In our IS-F's that spot on 6th gear.. :)

  • First Gear Ratio (1): 4.60
  • Second Gear Ratio (1): 2.72
  • Third Gear Ratio (1): 1.86
  • Fourth Gear Ratio (1): 1.46
  • Fifth Gear Ratio (1): 1.23
  • Sixth Gear Ratio (1): 1.00
  • Seventh Gear Ratio (1): 0.82
  • Eighth Gear Ratio (1): 0.69

Thanks for the explanation. Next time I go to the dyno, 6th gear it is!
can anyone correlate rwhp dyno numbers to factory rated HP at the crank? I seem to recall seeing expected drivetrain loses of @ 17-20%?? So a dyno # of say 350 rwhp would equal @ 420 HP?? If this is the case most dyno numbers seem to indicate the car is underrated from the factory?? Cheers!
