Snow tires prevented a fender bender

Got new Blizzaks on (225x40x19 front and 255x40x19 rear) a few days ago. Big snow storm last night. Today, I'm driving in town on snow-packed streets. As I approach a two-way stop intersection (no stop sign for me), I see a UPS truck coming up to the stop sign on the right. Then, like 25 feet from the intersection, I notice the UPS guy is sliding. I gently apply my brakes and steer to the left. He slides through the stop sign and all the way out into the intersection before he stops. I stop about 10 ft from being plowed into. He looks over at me, smiles and waves. I suppose that's a better outcome than the headline: "UPS Driver hits IS-F. Pulled out of truck and assaulted".

No kidding. I would have nailed the guy with the stock tires. They're absolutely scary on snow/ice.
My Blizzaks did great in the snow today. I wasn't really happy with them last year, so I guess I've re-calibrated my expectations or something.

That's a major understatement. The stock tires are just flat out dangerous in snow.

Well they certainly ARE NOT designed for snow but they are AWESOME on a warm dry day!!!!
