first hello to everybody and please forget my english

here my final result with sikky header 376 HP & 347.1 TQ 21 degree outside no humidity at all (perfect day) on a dynojet dyno

not impress at all

my car have 15000 km
so after 3 different dyno the gain is not as much as everybody who pass on the dyno at sikky place

my base run was 367 with all the mod except the headers

my best run was 385 after resetting the ecu
today on a different dyno my best run was 376hp and the second one was 367 also !!!!!!

so ask me if i am impress ?? not at all

the only good thing is the sound (for me)

next step will be on a mustang dyno my result will be aprox 6-8 % less

p.s everything was sae 5 corrected

DID YOU SEE MY TQ IS 347.1 SAME AS POEPLE WHO HAVE 413 & 416 HP ??????????????????????
I THINK THE DYNAPACK IS NOT ACCURATE (CAUSING BY THE WHEEL NOT ON THE CAR) LESS POWERTRAIN LOSS

THAT POSSIBLE !!
I don't want to come off and sound like a know it all, because I am definitly not a tuner or mechanic, but your dyno testing method does not strike me as being right man. You also can't compare results from one dyno to another as they are all a bit different even if they are the same make/model.

Looking at the chart you posted it doesn't even make sense to me.

1. Run 062 on 8/18/10 3:13:56pm resulting in 367hp and 342tq
2. Run 061 on 8/18/10 3:08:52pm resulting in 376.5hp and 347.1tq

Why are the two runs only minutes apart for a baseline/results comparison?

And finally, considering we now have 3 people with 40+whp gains and I've confirmed on a dynojet as well as the dynapak it's safe to say you are fine and you do have the additional hp that you are worried that you do not have. Just chill man and enjoy the headers.

Yes, it is high for a stock car. We all took a double take and even re dyno'ed several times to make sure it's not a fluke. This run was at operating temp to. It did drop a little like normal when heat soaked after 4 or 5 back to back runs, but it was still higher than what we have seen for a stock F. Guess this guy got lucky with a well put together motor? No other explanation.
Thanks for posting these results!

I will have similar results for my stock exhaust now being used with your headers Friday afternoon. Results will be from the dynojet. I'm hoping I haven't lost too much power now that I've seen these results, but will let you all know soon enough. What I'd like to see from you guys next is a full exhaust similar to the JoeZ exhaust incorporating high flow cats. :D

Whose car is this btw?

my question is why i HAVE the same TQ than you and your friend but you have more than 410 HP!!

and yes i am happy with my header i never say the opposite , they only thing i say is i am sad about my dyno # (hp) the torque is ok

eric
On the dynojet I did not hit 400whp either. ;)

From what I have experienced the Dynapack reads higher HP numbers and lower TQ than Dynojet, but as SLAY said, "The difference in Hp could be consistent with the readings of other dynos. The importance here is the power gained and the consistent pulls shown in the video."

why i have less power in second run simple my friend

we call that heat soak.. pretty simple

eric
Sorry I thought those were your before and after runs overlaid. I rest my case about you dyno testing methods.

Awesome!

So 34 with the headers alone. How does the interior with headers only sound compared to stock? I wonder what that freak ISF will make with exhaust and intake added.

Thanks,

Tom
It sounds stock to me, but with a slightly more deep sounding idle and startup and a bit more sound in the higher revs. You can also hear the cam adjustments at startup wheras with the stock manifold you could not.

I miss my JOEZ exhaust and can't wait to get it back on the car. :D

to be honest the only thing i forgot is my a/c on this run (376 hp)

i am not sure if this is a big difference in # result
Actually we found 15-20whp difference with the AC off. That is your problem Eric!

Ok, i'm done flooding this thread now and I apologize, but I just like to see problems resolved and the facts straight.

thank for the info :eek::rolleyes:

did you pass on the dyno with the a/c on with your headers

if i remember i read something about you on the dyno and i think you say you forget the a/c also

but maybe i am wrong

thank friend

eric
Yeah the same thing happened to me. We forgot to turn the A/C off, which is how we discovered the 15-20whp difference in power. Anyway you should be good to go now. Keep us posted on how you are liking the headers and I will do the same. Cheers!

SIKKY Headers with stock exhaust

Well this is interesting!

So the headers alone will make more power on the IS-F than with a catback exhaust and stock headers. So for those of you out there with families, just not into the whole elevated noise level that come with aftermarket exhausts and willing to spare a few ponies, it looks like the headers alone are a great option. As pleased as I am with the results today, the PTS JoeZ exhaust is going back on the car in the very near future. I miss the sound and will need the additional power this fall if I plan to squeak into the 11's.

James,

I truly appreciate your time and effort with the dynos and sharing the results with the F community. I found the results of the headers and exhaust note quite interesting! Personally, I am not willing to give up horsepower or the amazing exhaust note. I agree that the set up is suited for someone with kids. Do you still hear the cylinder pulses without the JoeZ exhaust?

Kind Regards,

Rachael
Rachael, the cylinder pulses can still be heard, but it's very subdued compared to before. Right now I really miss how the car sounded before with the PTS JoeZ exhaust especially while sitting at a stoplight with the A/C on and also how it screamed towards redline. Aside from the slightly deeper exhaust note, the only way you could tell I have headers on the car now is during cold starts when the engine valves are adjusting.

Now I need to make an appt with JE to get the PTS JoeZ exhaust back on. If they want redyno my current setup on their dynapack, that would be cool too.

James,

Why did you take off your JoeZ exhaust in the first place?

I'm assuming you installed the headers w/ the Joe Z exhaust, dynoed. Then put the stock exhaust on and dynoed again??

Thanks,

-Kyle
I needed to put the stock exhaust back on to pass the VA safety inspection. I figured I would take this time to get more testing done in this configuration before the PTS Joez exhaust goes back on.
