i ordered a set of headers. and sikky called me today to confirm that i have been charged 500 for a deposit until they ship. its nice to deal with a company that notifies its customers when they order things. i ordered the joez carbon fiber exhaust tips last week from carson toyota.... not a peep. and i have been charged. when i ordered my exhaust last year i called them after 2 weeks, only to have them tell me that they didnt have any in stock and they weren't even being made yet because of lack of parts. i dont want to rag on joe, its fine on his end, but they couldnt even let me know what was or wasnt happening. i just hope sikky has these made in 3 weeks like i was told so i can get them on.
How come you didn't wait to see the results from the elite headers??

according to andy, the elite headers require that the engine be removed. it has been stated from sikky that the engine does not have to be removed to install them, it can be done from underneath.

this is a huge factor. especially since i take joy in doing things myself, i will be putting on my headers. this means i have to do alot less work.

The Elite Headers will have a dyno sheet and video to back them up!!! :) Oh and PS.... They are mocked up on Splats car right now! I was gonna post pics but i LOST MY CAMERA.. I'm going to sleep and will find it in the AM. Oh yeah and we did it without pulling the motor..... SWEET!

I was wrong, we put the prototype headers in by pulling the subframe. It worked very actually.

I have been thinking about this all day and its bugging me... I have looked at all the dyno charts I have here for the F's... I find a few things very interesting... #1 The torque curve is absolutely the WORST curve I have ever seen, it should be flat. #2 The headers gain only 5 HP all the way up to 5200 rpm ish... That seems really odd because you would think the power increase would be linear..

Look at the difference in the torque curve of splats and Sikky's. It just doesn't add up..

That seems really odd because you would think the power increase would be linear..

At what rpm does the F get "on cam"? Just like a turbo car, the more agressive the cam profile, the more important your exhaust path is. IE, you are going to be seeing larger increases when the car is on the more agressive cam profile.

Also, the torque curves are similar, it's just the different scaling on the graphs that is exagerating the differences. You can see two small peaks in the torque curve on your DD dynno, but the two peaks on the other graph are much more visable due due the differences in scaling.

I bet the funky torque curve has more to do with the 'micro-processor' than the headers themselves. We need to see an overlay of that dyno run with the AFR. . .

I am sure the "micro-processors" are in fact just O2 simulators to keep the check engine light off. O2 voltage is typically not taken into account for WOT operation anyways.

The problem with that is my torque curve never drops in the middle....... his drops 20-30 ftlbs in that valley... That should not happen....

Let's hope your fab skills are sharper than you observational ones ;)

There may be a couple ft/lb difference, but thats is hardly a big deal, especially since long tubes could certaily effect the powerband before/near peak torque ;)
Ofcourse, why would you have something negative to say about a competing product ;)

has anyone noticed that the before dyno, which would have had the car without headers and microprocessor, had an almost identical profile to the torque curve? to me this just looks like dyno software.

My car has no AEM ems hooked up to it yet. Its running the factory ecu. And its an honest mistake that im sure Andy will own up to (as in miss reading the dyno plot). Nothing more nothing less.

I'm sure you are right.

The problem with only being able to type what you want to say is that most of the time we make it short and sweet, and when most people read something they take it in the worst context possible and think it is an attack on them when it is only a statement:(. This is a big struggle to deal with in my office when communicating via email.

I think that we are all just making sure we understand everything and are trying to get the answers that are important to us.

The only thing Splats car has extra is the ported intake.... There was no tuning done to that car.

On another note after dynoing our headers I now see that they do affect the torque curve and after scaling our graph the same as yours, they are similar. I still don't understand why you scaled it that way... but it is a valid curve.

I visited an empty parking lot this evening and decided to have a little fun. This car really needs some 275's in the back! Anyway, this is what the car sounds like with the SIKKY headers and the PTS JoeZ exhaust. I love it! I have about 400 miles on the headers now with no CEL and nothing but smiles. Thank you SIKKY and JE! :thumbup:

Caymandiver, that was great!The numbers are already impressive I was just waiting to hear more comments on how it sounds like with the sikkys. Nice and angry. I like the higher pitch as a result. By the way, was that the rev limiter cutting in?
Another order coming up.

Yeah that is the rev limiter kicking in. In person these headers sound even better. I feel like I'm driving a new car again. Lol
