Yup,, most ppl that paid $47,000-$50,000 for their F is more than likely a leftover 08 purchased in 09. You gotta remember, we had a really rough 08 where gas prices were extremely high, unemployment was high and no body dared to spend like they had a printer printing money at home. I do alot of research cause I am in the business myself and I feel that the economy is improving... Prices are holding alot better now, if you look at edmunds.com you will realize that the latest incentives for the new car are no where as good as they were just 4-5months ago.. It only means one thing, car manufactures are picking back up and they dont need to throw in extra incentives to push their car off the lot... I myself, picked up my brand new 08 IsF in May of 09 for $49,500 and I was very happy with my purchase cause I had a $12k+ discount and Its a Lexus, they are reliable and hold their value relatively well.. Im pretty sure if you hunt around, you can find a 2010 at a good discount but dont expect $10k-13k off sticker, cause its not gonna happen with the 2010, I even doubt thats gonna happen to leftover 09s,,, maybe $7-8k off leftover 09s... If you want, sit around for another month, Lexus might bring the $5k incentives to blow their 09 leftovers out the door. but by then, the dealers will probably only have 2010 IsF,, dont forget, they cut production of the 09s for a few months so theres not gonna be that many leftovers like there was for the 08

Hopefully, this will pull the re-sale value of the used F up a bit. Its too nice of a car to be treated like crap at the dealerships... Problem is all these dealers are just wholeselling them out only worrying about pushing sales of their new cars and not keeping trade ins on their lots.

isfly168 - I feel your pain. Cars are a depreciating asset don't forget... At least lexus isn't as bad as MB. My 07 benz had a 93K sticker and today wouldn't get more than low 40s!
I know, I know, but the benz is a dime a dozen,, Is F is a totally different story, its a kinda rare car if you ask me,,, I live in Philly and I rarely see another IsF.. Anyways,, Im waiting for March and April when springs around the corner, lets hope the demand for the IsF shoots up a bit by then.. I want to sell mines to get the new 2011 Sienna Se... lol IsF to a Minivan...

Prismatics: That's pretty funny, I think we got our cars at the same place. Did you get yours at South Bay Lexus? They also had a totally loaded Mica blue one. You also got a great deal, though. I did get 12K off but mine isn't quite as loaded, just with the essentials like the ML sound and Nav (MSRP 61.9K). I actually saw the car, a silver 09 about a month prior to purchasing it on 1/23/10, but the sales guy couldn't to better than 55K. He called me on 1/22 to let me know that it is 'on sale' for 49.9K. I was in the next day. It is a GREAT car and I am very happy wit it. It is so different than my other car, an 07 E63. The handling is in a different league.
Let me know if it is really the car from South Bay...
Im guessing theres $5k trunk money for leftover 09s then!!!

Don't think there was any trunk money, as other dealers weren't able to come close to these prices. I think that is was only that dealership which is weird. Prismatics - did you get good APR from them?
Im pretty sure there is, the dealer is not gonna drop the price of the car $5000 for no reason.. Other dealers are probably willing to sit a bit on the car since its still only January/Feb. Even if they sit till May of 2010,, 12k off of a 09 leftover is still gonna be a steal.... Betcha that they are hoping to sit till spring times comes and blow them out the door..
