Realistic Pricing

Hey guys, happy new year! Long time lurker, first time poster etc. :p

I'm currently in the market for an IS-F -- I'm located in SoCal. The deals out there on '09s are dwindling and I just wanted to get everyone's feedback on this.

I was at this dealership when they informed me their last Obsidian IS-F
with black interior is the last new vehicle available in the west coast. ML Nav 300 miles. They asked for 535xx and my agent got it down to 523xx (58xxx drive off). Then out of the blue, they called me to inform me that it's been sold for 553xx + tax and license with high APR% to a walk-in.

So yeah, at this point I don't think I'm going for a '09 anymore, probably just going to put this on the back burner and wait for '10 prices to go down (they wont sell below MSRP at this time on '10s)

It just seems so outrageously high pricing comparing to some of the other guys' prices on this forums -- the one that's been hovering around 47-50k. Any feedback on this?

I'm not sure what incentives are right now. Lexus incentives to the dealership are what really drop the prices occasionally. When I bought mine, there was a 5k factory to dealer incentive plus several others. I bought a new 08 in June 09, and paid more than 13k below MSRP. This isn't a common occurrence though.
Gymkata is right. Without any factory incentives and limited production of the ISF, even less for the 2010 model year, everyone I talk to is selling them for MSRP. I know a few dealerships have charged over, but I wouldn't do that. I think the MSRP is a fair price for the vehicle and my GM and owner agree.

PM me and let me know what your looking for, I'll be happy to help.
Yup,, most ppl that paid $47,000-$50,000 for their F is more than likely a leftover 08 purchased in 09. You gotta remember, we had a really rough 08 where gas prices were extremely high, unemployment was high and no body dared to spend like they had a printer printing money at home. I do alot of research cause I am in the business myself and I feel that the economy is improving... Prices are holding alot better now, if you look at edmunds.com you will realize that the latest incentives for the new car are no where as good as they were just 4-5months ago.. It only means one thing, car manufactures are picking back up and they dont need to throw in extra incentives to push their car off the lot... I myself, picked up my brand new 08 IsF in May of 09 for $49,500 and I was very happy with my purchase cause I had a $12k+ discount and Its a Lexus, they are reliable and hold their value relatively well.. Im pretty sure if you hunt around, you can find a 2010 at a good discount but dont expect $10k-13k off sticker, cause its not gonna happen with the 2010, I even doubt thats gonna happen to leftover 09s,,, maybe $7-8k off leftover 09s... If you want, sit around for another month, Lexus might bring the $5k incentives to blow their 09 leftovers out the door. but by then, the dealers will probably only have 2010 IsF,, dont forget, they cut production of the 09s for a few months so theres not gonna be that many leftovers like there was for the 08

Thanks guys for the fast response~

I got the picture already, but as ISFChamp mentioned, '10 models are selling currently at MSRP all around -- that's around 57xxx + tax so we are looking at 62k+ drive off.

For all of yall who got the car below MSRP, kudos to you. Right now as IsFly168 mentioned the sells are holding and the prices are rebounding, missed the chance, might as well just wait...
the IsF with the Navi and Mark Levinson should msrp around $61.6k the $57k price you are looking at should be without navi and Mark Levinson..
Just remember 2010 IS F production will be a lot smaller than 08 and 09. You won't see many 2010 on dealer lots like you did in previous years. The 2010 has a few more newer options standard than previous years, so if you're waiting for a sub $50k new ISF, don't hold your breath.
Hopefully, this will pull the re-sale value of the used F up a bit. Its too nice of a car to be treated like crap at the dealerships... Problem is all these dealers are just wholeselling them out only worrying about pushing sales of their new cars and not keeping trade ins on their lots.
Poked around in the last few days, most dealerships around here quoted me 58-59k for the 2010 model, I was considering it given it has a smaller production line and new added features, but the 10-15% hike on the price is a bit distressing. By the way anyone got the new '10 model willing to share their prices?
Sticker on my 2010 was 63.5k and I was able to get them down to 59k. They wouldn't go any lower then 59k. You won't find a 2010 unless it's a demo or used for less then 50k.
If you want to spend under $50k, check out the Pre Owned ISF I have for sale.

Paid $49,900 for a brand new IS-F 2009 (sticker 61.9K) about a week ago in SoCal. I believe that there are several 09s still out there. Good luck!
Isfory, please be more specific. Your price just ate my price for breakfast :(

Long story short, got mine on 23rd of Jan after being told there's no new 2009 black IS-Fs in western US; three Blue ones left in the entire CA + NV region. Ended up getting a Blue one and paid $55000. (that's about 61xxx OTD)

Anyways, Ultrasonic blue IS-F with alpine interior and loaded to the teeth. I'll try to list the things that might not come in standard.

Alarm with Immobilizer
Tire Pressure Monitor/ First Aid Kit/ Tool Kit
Floor Mat/ Trunk Mat/ Cargo Net/ Bumper Applique
Wheel Locks
Headlamp Washers
ML sound
Voice Nav
Parking Assist w/Front + Rear sensors
Dynamic Radar Cruise
Pre-Collision System

The sticker is $65181 and I got a little bit desperate after searching for just over a month, but what can I say, I am still in love with the car

Its so sad,,, a new one goes for $59K but yet a low mileage used 08 cant go for $45k,, Im trying to sell my 08 with 7500 miles with $2500+ in extra goodies for $46,995 obo and its like impossible.... Sigh
Prismatics: That's pretty funny, I think we got our cars at the same place. Did you get yours at South Bay Lexus? They also had a totally loaded Mica blue one. You also got a great deal, though. I did get 12K off but mine isn't quite as loaded, just with the essentials like the ML sound and Nav (MSRP 61.9K). I actually saw the car, a silver 09 about a month prior to purchasing it on 1/23/10, but the sales guy couldn't to better than 55K. He called me on 1/22 to let me know that it is 'on sale' for 49.9K. I was in the next day. It is a GREAT car and I am very happy wit it. It is so different than my other car, an 07 E63. The handling is in a different league.
Let me know if it is really the car from South Bay...
Isfory, it is the exact car that you mentioned at South Bay Lexus. It is pretty funny because the lady that sold me the Blue Mica told me "someone else had great interest in this vehicle" and I jumped the gun. She was a bit stern and wouldn't go anywhere below 55k on that loaded car. (Mmmk maybe "stern" is not the right word to put it, but she is an ex-air force officer and an ex-cop, you got the idea). I think she sold Ashton Kutcher his LS600 too.
All too funny~
Prismatics, I do think that we both got a hell of a deal. For some reason, this particular dealership was really motivated to move these cars asap. All other dealers I called wouldn't go below 7K off (cerritos and longo both had silver 09s). How do you like the car so far?
isfly168 - I feel your pain. Cars are a depreciating asset don't forget... At least lexus isn't as bad as MB. My 07 benz had a 93K sticker and today wouldn't get more than low 40s!

I know, I know, but the benz is a dime a dozen,, Is F is a totally different story, its a kinda rare car if you ask me,,, I live in Philly and I rarely see another IsF.. Anyways,, Im waiting for March and April when springs around the corner, lets hope the demand for the IsF shoots up a bit by then.. I want to sell mines to get the new 2011 Sienna Se... lol IsF to a Minivan...
