You may also want to consider Willow Springs Raceway
which is only about an hours drive North of LA. They have several different tracks you can rent by the day.

I would advise having someone out there who really knows what they are doing to assist with proper tire pressure inflation, safety etc....
As noted in a previous thread, in speaking with Paul Tracy this past weekend at the Long Beach Grand Prix, when he did the Speed Channels "Fire & Ice" segment on the MB C6.3 AMG, they went through (3) three sets of rear tires and one set of fronts during the three hours they spent filming the test track segment. So please think about bringing a mounted secound set of tires should you decide to really spend any time with your car up on a road course or autocross track..... YMMV.
