Hey guys, Ive had my Lexus ISF for approximately a month now, and I absolutely love it, but its just so tempting to floor it and what not, on the first day i actually raced a mustang cobra and I believe it was hooked up with intake and exhausts and everything and I raped it!!!, I also floored it a couple other times bringing it over 3000 RPMS, and today I just raced a infinity G35 and beat the hell out of it and floored it a couple of times, I approximately have about 1200 Miles, and everytime I get tempted to floor it after I do it I feel bad thinking its ruining the car until i hit at least 3000 Miles, before start flooring but honestly i want everyones answers on this please tell me what was the break in mileage they had on the car before they started to floor it or race people? and as well please tell me if its bad flooring it at this little of amount of miles. Thanks Guys, Im trying not to do anymore until i hit at least 3k miles

Break-in mileage is 1000km or about 621 miles.
Like TCM said, the break-in period in the manual says 681 miles. Some people don't follow it at all, some people wait longer periods (the most I've heard of someone waiting to floor it was 5000 miles).

I personally drove it like I would normally drive it since I drove it off the lot. I floored it a few times but mostly drove it like I would normally drive it :)
You can break in a motor in an hour as long as it goes through temperature and rpm graduations. I have done this on every motor I have done and the results have been more and more power as the mileage increases due to the progressive seating of the piston rings into the cylinder walls. This F seems to hold you off until its up to temp anyway, so I think you are fine. Get an oil anaysis from your second oil change just for piece of mind.

:D :D :D :D Ahem!!
I agree with TCM. I followed what the manual said. Truth is modern performance engines are built so well that its not like the old days with ring seating in the cylinders & deburring the internals. By 1200 miles you should need not feel any guilt. I do however recommend that b4 you get on any engine, the oil temp should be at operating temp. That is where most get impatiant & most damage will happen to the powerplant.
I will tell you that I did not exhibit any sort of caution with my F, which is about a month old. I was beating on it withing in the first 100 miles. I do find that she responds better when she is warmed up.

Didn.t matter to me I broke her in right away at about 300-400 miles. These cars are made to be aggressive,,period. You think the manufacturer's would make a car of this magnitude and give it to all the beat writers to beat it up on the track for they're stories, knowing it would break down?,maybe they had to wait for the 621 or 1000 miles first  The car is only gonna respond to the way you drive it ....reguarly.It gets "used to" your habits.Do the maintenance as scheduled or a little before, like me, and everything will be fine.

take it easy buddy...
I'm sorry, it's been a rough week. My 401k is in the tank, I scraped the back of my car (not too bad) and spending $250.00 a month in gas just to go to work and back is killing me!

At least that doltish clown WP1234 doesn't post in here anymore...I just couldn't take anymore BMW stroking :)

YUP, for most americans like you and me, no thanks to the a-hole Bush.Try getting a cheap alternative car so you dont drive the "F" everyday.Maybe a motorcycle or the civic or corolla.:D There are alot of people worse off than you and me,, ,trust me
catch didn't mean it like that but sorry bro me too man i commute to school then work, and back home its about 100 miles a day or more, i spent like 350 on gas last month alone, not including other cars i think lol...its rough now everything is going in the shit hole
