Those are some nice looking headers and the numbers sound good. Any idea what the price is going to be around? Their IS350 longtubes are $650.

^^ no cats, they have welded in o2 extensions that supposedly keep the cel off

I don't think welded o2 sensors alone will keep the ecu happy but hopefully their model works. Has it been road tested yet? If so how many miles?

i asked him about the dyno number the second it came off the dyno, i haven't got an update about the cel coming on, but they haven't had many problems with cel on the is350 race headers from what it sounds like on the forums

Taken from ClubLexus:

"We did some initial testing and our best gains were ~43whp at 6160rpm with stock exhaust and an aftermarket intake pipe. We are doing more testing and refining the design right now. We will post back when we have more info.

Final pricing isn't set, but they will be around $1300 with the JetHot Polished ceramic coating.

We haven't decieded yet what will be done about the dipstick tube. We adjusted the stock one to fit and made a new bracket on our prototype. We may include a new one in the kit which would increase the price a bit.

The headers will come standard with parllel merge collectors, Lexus 60mm outlet gaskets, O2 sensor plug in wiring extensions, weld-on rear O2 bungs to keep the CEL off and JetHot brand Ceramic Coatings."

I spoke with Paul and he mentioned they were still doing some final testing and shooting for a March release with the final price and numbers. He was very informative and looking forward to the final results.

I dont think o2 extensions & weld in o2 bungs are gonna keep your cel off, if it is so easy to get rid of why did sikky have to create an o2 sensor simulator module...

Are the PPE headers suppose to be better for performance than the sikky headers?
Is ceramic coating on them better than not having ceramic coating? Can someone explain the pros and cons of this.

thanks

I am curious as well. I have read about this on multiple other threads, but I still don't feel I understand the best header setup. I have heard that stainless is probably the best overall for headers, but that ceramic coating does a better job of insulating against head dissipating into the engine bay. Ceramic is cheaper than stainless, but can be damaged more easily than stainless during installation, and can flake off over time thereby leading to rust. Header wrap seems to be the cheapest, but supposedly traps moisture underneath it over time and also leads to rust.

What about wrapping stainless steel headers? Will stainless steel not rust even if exposed to constant moisture from wrapping? I imagine this would really help keep heat out of the engine compartment? I know somebody here has to be an expert on this topic...

Yep, I talked to Paul yesterday. He will be sending the headers to RedHot this week. I should hear something within three weeks. I'll keep you guys posted.
