I agree let us know :)

Nice garage too :D
Dave,
she looks ready to go! I'd say from all of your accolades and the cleanliness of your garage you are well prepared and you ought to go FAST. Let us know how you did please!

Doug
Hi Doug! Car did AMAZING! Weekend was great! Here is a snapshot of the car on track... I posted more on the 'CL' forum.

Dave,
the car looks phat and fast! I read through the CL post...great pics, thanks for sharing. Here is a link for anyone interested; http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f/516358-pics-of-the-f-before-her-track-weekend.html
How did it compare to the "feel and power" of your Camaro? Also, on a way off subject, do you know Brian Priebe?
Thanks for posting... and I know Brian VERY WELL!!! We were good buddies back in the late 90's... early 2000's... auto-xing... mention my name to him... Dave Schotz... he'll laugh... we were young back then... and drove the wheels off everything! Great guy!

I really loved how the car looked on the track! Pics did come out awesome.

The only thing this car lacked in 'feel' over the camaro was transmission 'feel' & exhaust 'growl'. As it's my street car... that's to be expected. The transmission shifts so smoothly, and the 'paddles' don't give you a very strong 'indication' that a downshift has happened... I'd have to 'look' at the shift indicator in a few places... to make sure it dropped 2 gears etc... And the exhaust again... I drive the car every day... I don't want all the 'noise'... but out there with 'real' race cars... I couldn't hear much, even with the Borla True Dual Competition system!

Thanks,

Dave

What tires do you run on track day? Racing compounds (BFG, Toyo R888,Michelin Sports Cups) or just street rubber.
I found the stock Michelin PS2 not as sticky as the Bridgestone RE-01R I had in my last car.
I am running 285/30/18 Hoosier Race Tires... as well as 285/30/18 Kumho V710's... Both D.O.T. legal, but primarily a 'track only' tire.

Dave
I assume this is you. If so, very cool. Maybe the IS-F will finally get some respect :)

Its funny to see some of the comments below in that article...Some people just can't give props where props are due!!! I guess it is tough for many to swallow that the ISF can definitely hang.
Thanks to you, more people will know what the ISF can do. I hate dealing with fart can stop light racers bugging me ;)

Question, how do you think having a 2010+ ISF with the LSD would have affected your racing?

Amazing job btw! Its great to see that though I lack the skill, the ISF CAN perform :D
My hat comes off to you!! Thanks for representing!!
BTW, those people can really shit talk..pshh
Thanks Guys! Car was great, and it was fun to see the look on many of their faces! If I was any good at converting Mini DV video into some web uploads... we could have some great vids to watch... but I never can find good editing material that is 'free' (Since I don't do it often enough to want to pay for it).

I think an LSD would be a VERY NICE upgrade... and probably would have been worth at least a full second... but it also really made me just concentrate on being smooth, so that the electronic braking LSD wouldn't be so intruisive.

Was a blast... and these cars REALLY ARE meant for the Track! Brakes are LIKE NO OTHER!

Thanks again!

Dave, youtube will automatically convert the video and you can edit it also.

Are you having trouble getting the video from the tape onto the computer or is the file just too large for you to upload? I have some video editing software and I could take a crack at it if you can get me the video files on a DVD or something. If you need a video converter I can get you one thats free and walk you through it. Just PM me :)
Thanks Infinus... I'll have to try just playing right into YouTube... for whatever the reason, when I was hooking up the firewire... it's making the file WAY to big. And I've got a lot of video, that I'd like to 'clean up'... to just the hot laps etc...

Thanks,
Dave

Thats because its writing it as raw dv avi footage which takes up tons of space, most native editors use that to edit then you can export in whatever format you want. The cheap free editor you could use would be windows movie maker its free and comes with nearly all windows PC's or it can be downloaded free from microsoft.
Dave, excellent job. As one put it, the BEST mod is the Driver Mod. Additionally, those trailered race cars and the poor guys who had built them seem a bit lame regardless of hp. My understanding is there were M3's there too? Again, props fella and lets see it again in the next class they force you into.
