Park Assist and Nav Screen Info

Is there any reason that you should not leave the Park Assist mode on all the time? I feel that since you have the option to turn it on and off, there must be some negatives to leaving it on (i.e. fuel consumption?).

Also, how do you get the screen to show track info and CD name when playing?

I have the iPod adapter and it only shows information on the the left half of the screen when I'm using the iPod, so longer names get cut off. How do you get the info on the whole screen?

hi, i would guess if u had a trailer hooked up it would be warning for close objekt all the time if u had it on. the ipod i have no idea. havnt got it installed yet.

I've left the park assist on full time since I got my car >

back in January. No real reason to turn it off IMHO. Sure once in a while when backing out of the driveway, we're on a steep angle, it goes off warning me of the street being close to the rear bumper, but I've gotten used to having it on and think the benefits outweigh any negatives. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with gas milage or anything like that....
I'm pretty sure there is no reason to worry if you keep park assist on or off all the time. It's all up to your personal preference about whether or not you keep it on or off all the time.

Unlike Dean, I keep mine off all the time (rarely need it) and everything run's perfectly :)

It's all up to you

About the Ipod, I have no idea but have you messed around with the settings at all? You can probably figure it out from there
I was wondering the same thing... cars typically dont give you an option, its either on or its not!

It's definitely preference to keep it on or off. There is no negatives to leave it on all the time other than the Park Assist green indicator light on all the time in your gauge cluster and the beeping when objects are near.

Granted you have NAV, press the "AUDIO" button when you're playing a CD and etc

There is a character limit on the Lexus display unfortunately. Long names will get cut off.
I suspect they allow you to turn it off in case it drives you nuts and not for any other particular reason. My garage has two single wide doors and 9 times out of 10 it beeps. It doesn't drive me nuts, but it might bother some people.
