New owner here with some (dumb) questions.

I have read the owners manual cover to cover and still have some questions on how to operate certain things in the car. I hope the owner base here can shed some light.

1. How do I adjust the RPM points that the shift light comes on?
2. Is the car supposed to automatically roll up the windows and close the sunroof if I am outside the car, with the car off, and holding down the "lock" button on the remote for more than a few seconds? Also the opposite, isn't it supposed to open the windows and sunroof if I hold the unlock down for a few seconds?
3. When I press "Auto" on the air-conditioning isn't is supposed to automatically also select "Auto" for the air source (recirculate vs. fresh)?
4. There are things listed in the Personalized Settings as "user settable with out the need of the Lexus shop tool" but I cannot find any of those instructions in my manual (i.e. seatbelt buzzer off, etc.).
5. On highway trips, why does my Nav keep telling me to get on and off the highway on to parallel roads?

Thanks!

Andy

#1: I can't help you with that one, unfortunately.

#2: The car will roll down all the windows if you unlock the car and then hold down the unlock button on the fob until all of the windows go down. There is no corresponding auto up with the fob. A friend of mine with an ES350 said if he holds down the lock button on his car on the door handle, it rolls up all of the windows, but I haven't tried this on my F.

#3: The auto recirc button seems to be independent of the auto on the climate control. I've also noticed in my car, the auto position on the recirc button won't stay in auto. It seems to reset to fresh on startup in most cases. There was a thread where I asked this question before and the response I got was that is normal.

#4: The Lexus Personalized Settings list is available on the Lexus.com owner's site. If you can't find it there, you can PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.

#5: I can only guess that your Nav preferences are set to use smaller secondary roads rather than the highway. I forget exactly where the setting for this is, but there should be a preferences screen on the Nav system with this setting.

Good luck,

Jeff

Thanks this helps a lot. Especially to hear that others are perplexed about "auto" air recirculation or fresh issue.
#1 - You can't. That's a feature of the ISX50, but not the F.

#2 - In addition to what was said above, This is a Lexus personalized setting. I have elected not to use this feature. IMHO, it's risky. See LPS Items #6, #7, and #8 on the pages attached below.

Its quite unnecessary that they make the setting of the personalized settings so difficult to change (requiring dealer intervention). Our Acura has literally dozens of user selectable settings accessible via the Multi-Info Display with just the key in the ignition and transmission in park.
Given the trouble involved, its good that they advise you to drive the car for 1000 miles before deciding on the settings.
The newest telematics for Lexus have a lot more user customizable settings that were once only available to the dealer. The new RX and the upcoming HS with the Remote touch function allows for more customization.
Thanks for everyone's help!

I drove the car for a little bit, but knew that I wanted certain personalized settings.
I had the dealer turn off the seat-belt buzzer, the alarm buzzer, the doors do NOT auto-lock nor do they auto-Unlock (i wanted this kept manual).
I also had them turn off the day-time running lights.
It required a little coaxing to have them do these things, but I like the personalized settings a lot.
