Hello Everyone,

I just purchased a new 2012 IS F a couple of months ago and am very happy with her so far. It's great to find a passionate group of people on this forum.

I'm starting to investigate options for increasing performance and have a question regarding the Joe Z Exhaust system. I certainly understand the performance boost, but what are the trade-offs in terms of interior noise or vibrations? Is there a break-in period? Do i need a specialized shop to install it properly?

Your answers are greatly appreciated!

James,

I'm about to follow your footsteps pretty soon (2011), from what I've seen and heard so far, the car will be a little louder. It eliminates the 2 rear catalytic converters as well.

For installation, you need to put the car on a rack and have a professional help you, unless you have some experience doing this. Also need to check for exhaust leaks.

I don't know if there's an official break-in period, check the manual. Otherwise it's an issue that has been beaten to death. Most cars are run at the factory to make sure everything is ok, but the manufacture still recommends taking it easy and varying the RPM's until about 1000 miles. (I'm assuming you bought the car brand new)
