Thanks for emailing them Dean. This seems more like a spam message then anything else but I guess we will wait and see huh
Thanks for emailing them Dean. This seems more like a spam message then anything else but I guess we will wait and see huhsaid their air filters are NOT ready for release yet and knew nothing about a cold air induction system for our F's. I E-mailed my inside contact and am still awaiting an answer. Will keep you posted as I find out anything.
OK YOU GUYS IM SORRY FOR THE DELAY BUT HERE IS THE PICS OF THE INTAKE I WAS OUT OF TOWN THE DYNO SHEET IS CORRECT 28 HP TO THE WHEEL AND ABOUT 25 POUNDS OF TORQUE HERE ARE THE PICSThanks for emailing them Dean. This seems more like a spam message then anything else but I guess we will wait and see huh![]()
^^Lowrider, from the pics, it would get rid of the two stage intake and replace it with a one stage, taking away the roar at 3600RPM's. That's just what I can tell from the picture, could be wrong
The weird part is even K&N replied in an email that they didn't have anything for the F, nor is there any mention on their website of a filter, let alone an intake system. This looks like the same setup SRT went with (claimed +20rwhp and +20ft/lb of torque). Interesting stuff none the less, I'll keep waiting to see if K&N releases it. I would think they would have put some mention of it on their site or when asked by Dean said yea, we have an intake but I could be wrong, you never know nowadays![]()
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!![]()
ok check this out their intakes arent metal its like a diffrent form of metal if you want u can email me and i can meet up with u some where so if u wanted to check it out then maybe you can convince this guy who keeps talking crap about the intake that im trying to help him out with and let him know whats going on rather than him giving me crap about it, tell him about how good it works thats fine i can meet u some where for this email me at [email protected]While I agree the numbers originally quoted look questionable, I found this on the K&N website:
"Our systems are built for horsepower. In fact on the 2003 Ford Mustang SVT® we get an impressive 30 horsepower"
So while we all might initially question a quoted "30 hp gain" for our beloved IS-F's, or would be much more willing to accept a more normal 8-12 hp gain, we usually see for replacement air filters or CAI(cold air induction) units for other cars, I am not so sure that K&N could NOT come up with something interesting for our cars. Though it is interesting to note that a previous attempt to build a CAI system for our IS-F's by another noted CAI builder only yielded a 1 hp gain???
So at this point all we can do is to wait for K&N to respond to our numerous inquiries or to reveal their product in some other way via their own marketing department. And in the mean time we can all hope that what we've read and see here is indeed a product that will perform as represented and that we all can get buy, and SOON !!!!
By the way Jwain, I live in Los Angeles and would be willing to drive to YOU to see what K&N has done. I run my IS-F with both intakes open at all times but can't say that I feel any HP gains, though I do feel a slight decrease in the throttle response time so that's why I continue to run with both open all the time. So to see what K&N has installed and how they are getting what's claimed by just adding a different air filter and a smooth metal pipe in place of our plastic pipe would be most interesting to me.... OR did they really do more then we can see from the pictures?
