said their air filters are NOT ready for release yet and knew nothing about a cold air induction system for our F's. I E-mailed my inside contact and am still awaiting an answer. Will keep you posted as I find out anything.
Thanks for emailing them Dean. This seems more like a spam message then anything else but I guess we will wait and see huh

Nice pics. Love your grammar/typing. Still not persuade by the pics and what you're telling everyone. Especially with the CAPS, it won't convince anyone if you type everything capitalize.
I just don't get all the hostility. If it's real great if not no big deal. I say give the guy a break. We will all know soon enough.
It looks to be real. But the picts are so small, you can't really see any detail. If I try to enlarge them, they become unreadable. If this guy is for real, K&N chose a very poor spokesperson. Any beta tester for a product needs to have the time to fully explain himself and the product and needs to be able to express himself in a positive way. You would think that K&N would be part of this first time public exposure and would be soliciting feedback from us as well as their chosen tester. The way this is being handled is a puzzlement to me:confused:

From what I can see of this device, the questions I would would have are:

1. How well is it sealed from hot air?

2. Does it continue to utilize the stock 2 step intake system?.

3. Are there dyno sheets available showing this unit and the stock unit under all operating conditions, including those with hot underhood air?

I, for one, would be interested in this product if I knew more about it.

BTW, MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone:)

^^Lowrider, from the pics, it would get rid of the two stage intake and replace it with a one stage, taking away the roar at 3600RPM's. That's just what I can tell from the picture, could be wrong

The weird part is even K&N replied in an email that they didn't have anything for the F, nor is there any mention on their website of a filter, let alone an intake system. This looks like the same setup SRT went with (claimed +20rwhp and +20ft/lb of torque). Interesting stuff none the less, I'll keep waiting to see if K&N releases it. I would think they would have put some mention of it on their site or when asked by Dean said yea, we have an intake but I could be wrong, you never know nowadays :p

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone! :)

it looks very similar but developed a lot better than srt plus a computer is not needed its only an intake but by the way im not here to sell the products in anyway. Also im not suppose to release any information to any of you but i decided to out of good deed. So be nice and except what i tell you cause thats about it thanks to all of you who understand me what im trying to do for you guys
Any pics of the dyno sheet?
Thanks for posting the pictures! It's very interesting!

While I agree the numbers originally quoted look questionable, I found this on the K&N website:

"Our systems are built for horsepower. In fact on the 2003 Ford Mustang SVT® we get an impressive 30 horsepower"

So while we all might initially question a quoted "30 hp gain" for our beloved IS-F's, or would be much more willing to accept a more normal 8-12 hp gain, we usually see for replacement air filters or CAI(cold air induction) units for other cars, I am not so sure that K&N could NOT come up with something interesting for our cars. Though it is interesting to note that a previous attempt to build a CAI system for our IS-F's by another noted CAI builder only yielded a 1 hp gain???

So at this point all we can do is to wait for K&N to respond to our numerous inquiries or to reveal their product in some other way via their own marketing department. And in the mean time we can all hope that what we've read and see here is indeed a product that will perform as represented and that we all can get buy, and SOON !!!! :)

By the way Jwain, I live in Los Angeles and would be willing to drive to YOU to see what K&N has done. I run my IS-F with both intakes open at all times but can't say that I feel any HP gains, though I do feel a slight decrease in the throttle response time so that's why I continue to run with both open all the time. So to see what K&N has installed and how they are getting what's claimed by just adding a different air filter and a smooth metal pipe in place of our plastic pipe would be most interesting to me.... OR did they really do more then we can see from the pictures?

ok check this out their intakes arent metal its like a diffrent form of metal if you want u can email me and i can meet up with u some where so if u wanted to check it out then maybe you can convince this guy who keeps talking crap about the intake that im trying to help him out with and let him know whats going on rather than him giving me crap about it, tell him about how good it works thats fine i can meet u some where for this email me at [email protected]
i made the same in take with pipe and all and lost hp and torque no way but i might be wrong
man, if that thing is for real, i would be totally down and interested... give the guy a break, don't knock it till you know one way or the other. i do know that when i spoke with one of the guys at status vip, they said the reason the joe-z intake is based off the stock intake box was because they tried to develop a cold air intake but couldn't get the hp and torque gains without using the intake box as part of the design... hopefully, if what this guy claims is true, K&N has developed a way to realize the gains... thanks for your posts and hopefully, we will start hearing things from K&N soon!
Wow 30 whp from just an Intake? Sounds to good to be true cause DynoPacks/DynoJets can alter numbers. Lets cross our fingers though.
Patience my young grasshoppers only time will tell. =P
Just curious, any update on this?
Peter
I have not heard back from my contact inside K&N yet >

but he could have just returned to work yesterday! I'll try E-mailing him again today. I sent the original poster an E-mail asking to get together but nothing came of that, draw you own conclusion :)
if they really did have a cold air intake boosting 25-30 hp, i will be the first in line to get one...
K&N had an intake on a car at SEMA making it more plausible that there is actually one that can be released. It was on the "IS F by Import Tuner Magazine/TEIN." Still nothing on the K&N website
ive never heard of a drop in filter giveing 30whp , because they dont exist.
