Q1. Dont think you have a choice, or I have never found it.
Q2. Mine flake out at times as well but rarely.
Q3. Are you trying to listen to the Stereo in Surround Mode? If so turn off surround mode. Otherwise its just going to be a personal preference in setting the sound.
