I did 3 months of research and shopping on a G37 and then end up with an IS-F! Oh well, I'm still pretty new to the mods and I know they're heckkkkkk more $$$ than the G mods. So please help me out here!

Thanks guys! Looking forward to meeting ya'll!

Here are my mod plans in order:

Smoked tail lights (please pick one for me, I have no idea which is better)

Radar? (I need something to protect me from cops, my first time buying this , need some advices!)

HID headlights/foglights or angel eyes (6k blue-ish? I have no idea where to get this as well and I'm a noob at this)

35% tint

Joe Z intake/exhaust (I know so far, this is the best for the IS-F)

20" Wheels (I've heard some stories on the IS-F's hard suspension, please guide me on this!)

Man, forgive if I'm a noob (but that's that whole point of this forum:D)

Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum bro, I just got mine 2 days ago and am a local Houstonian. Let's hook up and do a photo shoot!!! -J
Welcome to the site and congrats on your F! Have you picked it up yet?

Radar: With regards to radar detectors, your going to have to look at the various ones out there and decide how much you want to spend and what kind of protection your wanting. I would venture to say a majority of member have either the V1, a particular passport (8500, 9500, or 9500xi) as well as some of the calibre system. I would do some looking around to see which one best suits your needs, they all offer something unique.

Suspension: There are two coilover sets out right now, with JIC getting the best reviews. This is the reason I asked if you've picked up your F yet, do you personally think it is too rough?

Hope this helps a little

With regards to the HID headlights, I would contact either l-tunedparts (although I'm not sure how much they have with regards to lights) or VIP Auto Salon ([email protected]). I bought all mine from Clark and he is a great guy to get to know for parts and can help you pick out the right bulbs.

Good question anson89...I haven't looked into the pre-cut overlays for the lights and I'd really like to know if it looks good once applied, is it easy to apply? I have gone to a car customization shop and they quoted my $700 to do it professionally. This intails a long involved process, but it looks amazing (I hope so for that cost.). Please let me know what you hear about that tint. Congrats on the F.
Welcome to the forums.

For the light kits, they are fairly easy to install with the patience and the right tools. A hair dryer will work well unless you have experience with a heat gun.

I tried replacing my high beams, but it's too complicated for me. I guess I'll just take it to the dealership again.:(
I would be glad to help you out with any of the Escort radar detector products. The 9500 ix is a great unit and it even has a blue display that matches the IS-F gauges perfectly!

My wife actually made fun of me when I bought a 9500 ix to replace my V1 in the F because I told her it matched the interior better.
