Navi Hack in Southern Ontario?

3256 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  ledfoot
Does anyone know of a company/shop that can do the Navi hack? I know there is one in Cali, and as much as I would love to drive my car from Toronto to LA, that may take too long. I wondering if any of the local boys/girls would know someone local who can do the modification.

Much appreciated! Cause I just must watch Goldmember while cruising down the 401!!!

I got my navi unlocked and I must say its soooo worth it. The ability to put in directions on the fly is great. I'll ask my install buddy if he has any references up there. The dude seems pretty dialed in...
+1 for this thread, I'd like to know as well, so when I get my F that'll be one of the first things I do with the car!
Sorry for the stupid question but can anyone explain to me what happens to the Navi when it is hacked,is it worth it and does it affect the warranty of the car.

what hack do you have?
There are a few out there and some you can do by yourself if you have time and patience. I can get some links for you of good ones or you can do a search :D
I got a switch installed under the right side of my steering wheel. With the switch in its normal position the GPS, DVD, navigation controls function as if it were stock. When the switch is flipped the DVD, Navigation, and general controls are unlocked. So you can watch a movie, input telephone numbers, input addresses/destinations that otherwise you would need to be stopped to use. the only problem is that the GPS signal isn't a true signal when the switch is turned to 'non-stock' mode. So i guess i'm saying one would want to input the directions w/the switch in 'non-stock' and then switch back to stock (it still keeps what one just typed in) right after to get a true GPS coordinate. Also my seat belt chime I had turned off and a few other random things that the Lexus "Personalized Settings" don't address

I live in Scarborough and I ordered and installed the Nav bypass device from Prestigious Society. Here is the link to the unit which has been discussed on these forums http://www.prestigioussociety.com/pdfs/DVD_nav_overide_pamphlet.pdf

This is not a cheap unit but it does not require you to cut into any of the factory wiring which I prefer. It took about 30 minutes to install and works great.
Any pictures of it installed?
I did not take any pictures of the install but the kit came with fairly detailed pictures that shows how to remove the radio and plug in the bypass harness. I remember seeing these pics online somewhere as well but I can't seem to locate the link. Do a search on Nav bypass and you should be able to find a lot of information on the subject.
