My intro

Hey, just joined the forum yesterday. I don't own an F yet, but will likely pick one up next summer.

I currently have a heavily modified '94 Trans Am putting out ~500HP. I've had the car for over a decade and love it, but have since developed a case of 'the family' and need a four door, four seater which is why I'm considering the IS F.

Our daily driver is an '09 Acura MDX.

I work for one of Canada's largest oil comapnies, which combined with my love of cars I've accumulated a fair bit of semi-technical knowledge about fuel and lubrication.

I'm particularly interested in people's likes/dislikes of their F so I can be sure this is the right car (right now my second choice would be an M3). I'm also interested in some minor modifications because I can't leave well enough alone.

Looking forward to sharing with the others in the forum.

Welcome! Don't be bashful to ask questions. We have a great group of helpful members here.
Welcome. As far a s likes and dislikes do a quick search. There have been many posts regarding this, and a few have been quite recent. Some of the biggest pros for the Lex is that it is a Lex. I other words the reliability is unparalelled for this type of car. It is extrememly well built and most of the after the fact mods are mostly for personal preference. It seems like more and more aftermarket mods are coming available for this car.
Since your coming from a 94 Trans Am and like to Mod your car, Keep in mind, this Lexus is "Ridiculous" expensive to mod. Nothing is cheap when it comes to this car. Oem brake pads are close to $400 for parts only, just to give you a heads up. Im saying its ridiculous expensive because I know its relatively cheap to play around with Old Skool Muscle.
You guys should check out what the prices are for M3 parts. It makes the current IS F aftermarket parts look like a bargain.
Hey Looney,

i pick my is-f up Tuesday and can't wait.In oz they are really expensive and it's a massive call(nearly $140k on the road but still value for money against thec63 and m3 sedan)
Am in the same scenario....3 kids.....2 in the car most mornings etc so will enjoy the performance as well aspracticality.
Our 'family wagon is a Honda(Acura)MDX '06 model and absolutely love it! Unfortunately they're not bringing them to oz as far as I know. I have to change my wife's car next year and would order one hands down if available.!!!
Anyway just thought I'd reply. Go the IS-F.....it's awesome.

Thanks for the advice, it's definitely something to keep in mind. Given the family situation, I don't think I'd go much further modifying the F than an intake and exhaust.
