My F vs LT1 Vette

Just an hr ago I went to put some gas in the car and then I went to take the highway to get back home, all of sudden I see this car going frighteningly fast! To my surprise it's its Vette LT1..At least 2006 model due to the back exhaust!
Anyhow we were racing to see at least for me I wanted to see how much can the F hold it's ground on the Vette..Amazingly it did well! We were going neck and neck! Although I think the LT1 is faster due to Higher intake of 6.0 or 6.2 with more torque and slightly lighter car or about same weight ratio almost..
Eventually the driver had to get off his exit so I ended up looping around to get back to my exit..Here's little twist! Someone in a Wrx Sti attempted to catch up with us but NO GO!!:)

LMAO nice job... got caught up by the moment and missed your exit eh.. hehe sounded like lots of fun
Wow, neck and neck, thats awesome! Nice run!

Thats funny about the WRX STI, I ran one the other day :p Have you run one by itself before?

Plenty of times and believe it or not they're not consider equals UNLESS they're heavily modified..

Mike, I can't imagine what the Z06 or the ZR1 would be like racing against..

Honestly I'm not sure If the Guy in the Vette was trying or he just wanted to see what the F hype is and was testing me or maybe..hm..Fun time either way!!

I noticed that as well when I ran him. It was the first time I had run a stock STI and it was fun :)

I would love to run either a Z06 or ZR1! If you run one, let us know! If I run one, I'll definitely let you know! I've run normal vettes but no ZR1's or Z06's

Honestly unless it's 06 Vettes or higher the 05's or lower vettes, F drivers can take them down unless it's ZR1 or Z06 or heavily modified..
Imagine what the F can do once it's supercharged..

But for my next car mostly I think want a Vette instead of GT-R..For the price it's unbeatable..
i raced a z06 , and beleive me , it was a pleasant site. the vette pulled away from the F very hard. but u are talking about 505hp and a lighter car. Z06 ,for the price is a sick car. and the power u get .

i'm not meaning to bust any chops but LTx motors haven't been put into vettes since the c4 body in the mid 90s. as for how the isf would hold up against corvettes i would put them as follows;

c4, c5, 01 z06, 05-07 c6, isf, 08+ c6, 02-04 z06, 06+ z06, 09+ zr1

if you were neck and neck its likely an 05-07 or if he was pullin on you a slight amount it was probably an 08.

no chance in hell against a new z06 or zr1

that is if you think it was a c6 bodystyle (ie. the current model)
i may even go as far as to say an 05-07 c6 would pull from an isf

Believe me I can't imagine how much faster Z06 is then, according most Magazines ZR1 is the current King so it's VERY SCARY!!

Dude, I'm not gonna disagree with you as I was merely mentioning the Intake on the vettes and the Torque on these cars are insane..The person that was driving was keeping me up with me like nothing..If anything we actually were taking turns back and back forth flying by each other..

This is my opinion of course but the Vettes are lighter or almost same rate weight ratio with higher Hp and Torque version of IS-Fs..or simply put naturally beef up version of IS-F..

Last trust me I know Z06 in NO WAY in chance I have a shot nor the ZR1..It's just too much Hp and Torque not too mention weight..

Bro I'm not some kid, I know about cars not a super expert but know just enough, like I said if you read my 1st post I was going up against it to see how much F can handle against the BEAST of a Vette!!

I'm pretty sure of it that's it's 06 model or higher b/c 05 model or below has pop up lights..Correct?
Correction, after doing some research 04 or lower has pop up lights..05 and higher runs on regular lights..
Wow, I missed a lot since last night! I hope no one read what I had posted out of context. With that said, the F wouldn't be able to pull on any Z06 except the later models. The ZR1 is an insane car and the F doesn't stand a chance. I would still like to run against them just for fun, although I would get spanked, it would be fun to see all that power at work

Back to the original poster, A03, nice run last night :D
sounds like it was a fun run... couple of simple mods to the f and it should be able to hold its own against alot of cars.... just too bad there isn't too many options out there for mods at the moment

The Z06 is Ghost Train so ZR1 is a Bolt of Lighting!
The Regular Current Vettes give F the run for the money..

Thanks Mike, forgot to mention that I will definitely post IF I ever run into Z06 or zero to non chance of ZR1..

My perception changed lot after the race with the vette..
with everything said i'd still rather have an ISF over any vette except the zr1. :)

To me and to anyone that owns a F likely they know it's pure combination of speed and luxury where the Vette is a 110% pure race horse..

BTW I believe someone in this forum does own a Z06 and a F, No? Maybe I'm mistaken..I might have to save some more and buy a Z06 as a 2nd car or wait longer and get a ZR1..
i have both. and yes, the last lt1 was in 95/96. there was a lt4 in 96 for certain models. vettes since then have used the ls1, ls2, and ls3. z06s have used ls6 and ls7. zr1 is ls9. if someone in a new vette can't outrun you then they aren't trying. more hp, more tq, and substantially less weight. any c6 would take an is f and the z06 and zr1 are obviously not even worth comparing. my z06 is stock at the moment and it still a very quick car. my last z06 (03) was supercharged putting down 580rwhp and it didn't feel much quicker than my current bone stock c6 z06. i plan on doing head/cam work in a few months which will put me around 550+rwhp :D
Rutiger,

Have you seen the LSX motor from GM. 454ci small block crate motor NA 630 hp and 600+ ft-lb of torque. Last week I saw two C6s and two Trans Ams with the FI version of this motor. One of the TAs runs N20 is totally stock bodied including A/C, big speakers, etc. Turns mid 9s at the track.

I figured that as much..This guy wasn't seem like he was trying or didn't know how to drive the car at all..We kept on going back on forth..
Once again, Never again doubt Vettes unless it's same league as the F but obviously even several general down Vettes make the F work really hard!!
Thanks for clearing it up for me bro!
BTW How much did you pay for the Z06 if you don't mind me asking? For typical price for slightly used one that is..
Last I used LT1 as a example b/c I couldn't remember the engine Chevy goes by..I always remembered ZR1 from back in the 90s till Z06 came around..
