Looking to take over lease: '08-09 IS-F

Requirements:

Less than a year left on lease
Low, low miles
Mark Levinson
Park sensors

Qualifying won't be a problem (FICO around 800, long car lease/finance history).

I would also consider a straight-up purchase for the right price.

Please PM with details. Hoping to join the IS-F family soon :)

So, I contacted several dealers about CPO cars on their lots.

They seem to be unwilling to negotiate much -- surprising in this market. Prices for a clean, low-mileage '08 CPO are hovering around $45k, which IMO is about $3-4k too high.

Considering the CPO warranty and 0.9% APR, the same car from a private party should be around $38k.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic :p

If I were selling my IS-F now, I would probably be more flexible on price. A year from now, a lot more IS-Fs will be coming off lease, supply will probably double and prices will take a dive. Wouldn't be surprised if '08 IS-Fs are selling for low 30s.

I'm still semi-interested in leasing or purchasing a '08-09 IS-F, but it will have to be a great deal to make me pull the trigger. Feel free to PM if you have anything in mind.
Forgive my naivety, but why bother to lease a car that has less than a year left on the lease?
It would give you a chance to get comfortable with the car, decide if this really is a car you would want to drive for a long time, especially if it's going to be a daily driver / only car. At the end of the lease, figure out whether to buy it or return in. You wouldn't be wasting any money if you decided to buy it because buyout prices tend to be lower than current IS-F prices.

Got it ~ thanks. I guess if the miles are kept really low that might be a way to go ~ otherwise you will get dinged for miles, tires, etc.
Most likely, there won't be MORE coming off lease next year as fewer ISF's were brought in in 09 than 08 and even fewer in 10. Yes, prices on 08 ISF's will fall as they get more miles on them and time goes on, as with most cars. The market bears most low mileage CPO ISF's right where you see them.
By "more" I meant all the 08's that were actually bought in 2008 and will be coming off lease sometime in 2011. It's unfortunate that the numbers went down in 09 and 10, but I guess it would count towards exclusivity :)

Yes it does :D And the other plus is it helps keep the value of this car fairly high, and deprecation fairly low... Trying to get a F for 38k in reasonable shape ain't going to happen!

As per someones question buying a end lease vehicle is a real plus if you are buying a car like the F and have an idea of what you are doing. You can buy one with LOTS of miles left on it before the lease ends, and the buyout is usually MUCH lower than the current resale value of the vehicle is. So you take advantage of someones misfortune of having to get rid of it and capitalize on that... It's the American way...
