Lexus ES 300 Stock Multi Disk CD Player Not Playing Discs, Help Please?

Hello, can someone give me a solution to this.my friend bought the car recently without testing the CD player in the glove box. Tried a CD-R disc and a non-burned disc. It reads them, loads them but nothing happens after that. No error code or anything just doesn't play the CDs.
