ok so i got bored on my morning break......and decided to install a new set of LED Puddle lamp. My previous set was the PIAA extreme white bulbs, but nothing beats the pure color of LED :D

first thing I did was push the mirror upward/facing up while pulling the bottom out.

give it a little tug and it will snap out.

Start by pulling upwards and outwards.

Next take out the 4 screws with a phillips screwdriver

The mirror is basically a case with 2 pieces. Wiggle the back part and gently pull it apart. It should snap off.

Now take the front part off...

Locate the light plug and take it apart.

heres a picture of my old piaa's extreme white.

new LED

Plug it in to make sure it works before you put everything back together.

Put everything back and you're good to go

Great!! Thanks for all the pictures. What LED bulb did you use and where did they come from?
Thanks for the DIY, just did it, took about 20 minutes for both sides! :)

Hey nice DIY but what is that white looking paste...what does it hold in place (the mirror)?

Do you need to use a new sealant/paste?

dude, how did u put it all back together?
isnt there a special paste u use?
or does everything snap back on?
anyone know where else i could find these directions with the pictures?
dude, this mod is easy. just take a thin long Phillips screwdriver, tilt the mirror into a corner, look behind the mirror and there's a screw, unscrew it! Repeat for the other 3 corners. After that, the front cover can be pulled off with your bare hands. You'll see the plug into a light socket, unplug it! Then slide the remaining back (frame around mirror) a little and the bottom light piece can be tilted towards the rear tires and then it can be maneuvered out. Once the light piece is out, unscrew the bulb and replace with whatever you want.

Putting it back together is a little harder. Place the light piece back in (it has to be tilted towards the rear tires to slide in, then pop up) and align it with the back frame that is around the mirror. Now you can place the front cover back on, but it has to match up with the light piece on the bottom and the back frame on the top (just a little tricky). it will all slide and snap back. the hard part is when not using a magnetized screwdriver to place the screw back in. not to worry, if you drop it, you can tilt the mirror up and get it out to try again!
