K&n intake vs. Joe Z intake

I was in new Jersery this weekend for the formula D event in Wall and they had a K&N vender there. After talking to him I'm very interested in the K&N intake. I'm currently running the Joe Z with Tom's insert and although I'm not having any problems which is great I'm very disappointed in the sound. The K&N is suppose to be much louder but I'm a little worried about the oiled fitler. The guy said they don't sell dry ones? Is that correct and has anyone dynoed their K&N yet? Any and all feedback would be great. Thanks.

Although I do not have a K&N on the F yet (still looking to see what the best way to go is yet), I do have them on my other 4 cars and have never had a problem, my BMW Service advisior told me just to be carfull and not to over oil it or it would screw up the map sensor, never had a problem in the 20 or so years that I have been using them
I've been waiting for dyno's and some feedback about the K&N intake. I've been hesitant to buy it without concrete evidence showing that it makes power due to the following:
1. SRT came out with a intake with similar design that actually lost power.
2. I had a K&N drop in that resulted in me losing MPG and power likely because the Lexus MAF got contaminated with the filter oil. It looks like the Lexus MAF are a bit more sensitive than others to the oil.

So until someone who has bought the intake and post some feedback and dyno numbers, I think I'll hold off getting one...Darshana S...
I have the JoeZ intake with a K&N drop-in. Unlike some of the others, who have reported oil on their MAF. I have suffered no such fate in 4K miles. I have used K&N for years with no issues. As has been said, do not over oil, and leave on a bench to dry overnite before using.

I have gone for Joe Z intake plus the TOM'S drop-in because I like to keep the car as it is concerning the dual stage intake. I was reluctant on ordering the K&N because it has the same concept as the SRT and don't wanna risk it as we haven't heard much about it. I'm not saying it's bad by any means and not comparing it to the SRT.

I'm waiting for Clark from VIP to ship my Intake and Filter and will keep you posted on my opinion
I have the Joe Z intake and Tom's insert. It makes a slight difference in sound and a little better throttle response. I want a louder sound with more performance.
ISF-88 have you dynoed your car yet?
As far as I know, there have been no independent dyno's done of the K&N filter yet. I'm still waiting, like many others, to see the results. I'm running the Toms filter and Joe Z intake with his exhaust system and a throttle controller and am throughly enjoying the sound of the car

Big Mike, you have the throttle control. How do you like it and can you turn it back to like the factory normal and sport mode? I don't want too much throttle all the time because I like to take her to summit and too much throttle is no good going through the turns.

Maybe its time for the exhaust....

I love it. I can literally throw people back in the seats now because it makes the power that much more accessible. When you have the throttle controller on and then turn it off you can feel one hell of a difference in the pedal. You have four (well five) mods for the throttle controller, OFF, ECON, SP1, SP2 and SP3. You can run the car with the throttle controller off completely if you would like. I do this sometimes when I don't feel like pushing the car  Let me know if you have any other questions!
my question is.. Is the normal sport mode on the car equivalent to SP1 or is SP1 even more responsive? Does sport + SP1 make the car more responsive than SP1 alone? is SP2 more responsive then both sport and SP1 together etc...?? it's a bit confusing

Joe, I have your exhaust. I have for a few months now and it is amazing. I hardly ever listen to music in the F anymore. Thank You.

Same here... absolutely love it. Especially at WOT. Sounds like a damn race car!

Sounds like your having lots of fun with it Mike!!

To answer "omarab12" question, when you engage "Sport Mode" with the throttle controller, it further enchances the throttle controllers abilities..

So basically you have all the settings BigMike describded, BUT when you flick ON Sport Mode it just makes the IS-F a whole lot more responsive..

Thanks for the info Joe... I'm waiting on your intake tube for the time being along with a tom's insert and the next step after I enjoy the intake a bit will be the exhaust! They will be the only Joe Z products in Qatar :D
I've heard way too much about your products and can't help but to try them. Thank you for that.

Yes I have, I just had it dyno'd today, the post is up already, sorry for the long wait. Enjoy;)
hello Joe, how are you?
im kind of new here
are you the manufacturer of the intake and exhaust for the ISF?
how much it will be the price for both delivering Miami Fl?
thanks
Sergio ISF, Joe is the manufacturer but he's not a vendor. Therefore you have to get in contact with them for the parts that you're asking for.
