This thread might help you out. I believe there are only one or two people to have ordered it while none have received their orders or posted feedback. Should be up soon though.

personally, i think the joe-z with tom's air filter set up is better. might not give as much gains but, looking at the install procedures on the k&n.... having to go through that every time you need to clean your air filter just seems like too much hassle. with the joe-z / tom's air filter setup, cleaning it will take less than 10 minutes.
Looking forward to the impressions and true dyno results. Mike what air filter would you recommend with the JoeZ intake? Dry or oiled? K&N, Amsoil or TOM's?

I would definitely go with a dry filter. The oiled filters have been shown to mess with the MAF and cause a decrease in power on the F. Which particular dry filter one goes with is going to be based upon personal preference. I have run the Amsoil one previously but switched to the TOM's and am loving it so far. It is thinner than both the Amsoil and stock filter but still does the job very well.

Thanks for your opinion Mike I am waiting for my JoeZ intake to arrive and I was wondering weather to leave my stock air filter or go aftermarket. I am afraid of choosing a filter that will make my car lose power. It seems that TOMS filter is choice will it lose, gain or complement the performance of the JoeZ?
I have this intake on order and it should be here sometime next week, I getting a baseline dyno run coming next friday and I'll have the intake installed and dyno it again to see the true gains of it. Stay Tuned!

Also another ISF member from the other forums has it already, he said it was quite loud and he felt a difference. He's liking it so far but no dyno tested from him yet.

I haven't really noticed a "seat of the pants" loss or gain with the TOM's filter installed. The only thing I've really noticed a more throaty sound down low but other then that, I haven't noticed any power difference (then again, at 1 or 2 rwhp, who can from the seat). Personally, I just pulled the trigger on it to try it out and see how I liked it. If someone on here comes back with dyno results that show a loss of power, the stock one is back on :) I bought mine from Clark and he is running it on his F, which is one of the reasons why I finally decided to purchase it. I know Clark is not going to put something on his new F that results in a decrease of power or messes with the MAF or other parts of the intake system.

Keep us updated with your results please, I'm anxious to see how the F reacts to a single stage intake

I live in Orange county, CA. Installed the typhoon kit tonight. I am considering making a video so you can listen to the car. I will look to see if there is a video of what it sounded like before. I need to ask my co-worker to bring his "small G-force performance" meter device for me to test the 0-60 mph time. We have a few previous runs for us to compare the new runs with. If anyone has any questions let me know.

The k&n website has been really unstable the last few weeks. I watched the video a few times before I installed it. It was easy. There was a small issue with my kit. It was missing the vacuum plug. I just put a screw in the small hose it already had so that was easy. When I first turned on the car it quickly shut off. Second ignition attempt worked and I test drove it. I also have new tires, the Michelin All Season with the 45000 warranty http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fi...true&cf=false&rd=19&sw=false&rc=CAOINT&cs=255 . Not sure how much I like them since I just installed them 5/1/2009. I was able to get the typhoon kit for $301. Are there any meets here in OC or near Santa Clara or San Jose. I'm near the Steven's Creek Lexus every other weekend.

Nice, unfortunately K&N had an issue shipping mine out on time and my Joe Z exhaust came in already before the intake and I'm having it installed tmr as I don't have time waiting around for the intake to come first. So sorry guys I will be dynoing the exhaust first then when intake comes in I will have it dyno'd again after with the intake. I already did a baseline dyno so I will know where it's going. Sorry guys I can't do it the other way around because I'm quite busy next 2 weeks and my schedule is all booked up...

We have weekly meets in the San Gabriel Valley every friday night. And in the Bay Area, they have their weekly Friday night meets in Milpitas. Check out the regional section of Club Lexus and you will find them.

As for this coming Friday...our NorCal crew will be driving down for Toyotafest 2009 this weekend. We are going to have a meet on Friday at VIP Auto Salon if you're interested.

This is all just a repeat of what happened when the open ended intakes came out for the ISX50'S...it sucked in hot air from the engine bay and mad a loss of power not a gain. The dyno's aren't real driving scenarios with your hood up, and fans blowing air from a direction the car will never see.

Save yourselves go with the Joe-z! Mine should be coming soon. :p

Thats a true statement dyno the intake with a closed hood and see the results.
I got one in my car and it sounds awesome. The K and N comes with a heat shield and cold air from the oem air duct feeds the intake. After the Install, the car sounds like a BEAST, fitment is 99% perfect. Mines came with the plug for the secondary valve, but my Air filter clamp was missing, nothing major, paid $1.79 for a 6inch diameter one at Home Depot.
This second photo shows the oem front air duct is still used to direct cold air into the K and N intake, and the heat shield is used to prevent sucking in Engine Heat

I am part of clublexus and I noticed one vendor selling a group buy of the K&N intake for 269.00 but may take a while, so I searched and found kensautowholsesale.com they are selling it for 265.00 with no tax and no shipping. I do not know who these guys are so I searched and found autoanything.com they are a huge known site that sells alot of items. They listed it for 356 but I noticed a price match guarantee. I called them up and gave them the website that I saw the price on, and bam he gave me the same price plus $10 off no tax no shipping, shipped directly from K&N. You have to do a phone order. I told him I will tell everyone about the price. here is the info.

my total price out the door was $255.54. Tell him Matt sent you. (no I do not work for them)
