I currently have a 2009 which I purchased new last year in December. Like you, I had modified cars in the past and have gotten tired of the fender liner rub, diagonal driveway approaches and etc. Other than the Joe Z intake and Tom's Drop in air filter, I have no other mods to the car. The IS F out of the box is a great all around car. At 25k miles, the car runs strong and is a blast to drive.
