I have owned my F since Feb of 08 and really enjoy the car. As all other car enthuiasts you are always looking for a little more. As I always say "to much horsepower is just about enough" I am vey anal and will only purchase high end master fabricated pieces. I have been looking for an exhaust and intake upgrade for some time. After listening to all of the sound bites made available from the varoious MFRS and even talking to a few I decided on the JOE Z intake and exhaust. After ordering I could hardly wait to install the exhaust and experience it for myself. Gentlemen one word BAD ASS!!! Now my car sounds like it looks. I cannot keep from driving it in manual mode just to hear the melodious engine tone. I no longer have to use expensive fuel to ward off would be contenders the sound alone let's them know this car means business. Let's just say you will not be sneeking up on anybody anymore. This mod has absoulutely transformed this car into a truly high performance machine as if it was'nt already. For all you owners who do not yet have one this is a must get when possible. My hat is off to JOE Z, the fit and finish of this piece is amazing it had all of the LEXUS servive techs in comlete awe when being installed. There was obviously a copious amount of time that went into the r&d of this system and it shows everytime I hit the gas!!! JOE Z you are the man!!!

Rickk, I've been asking myself if I should go for it. How does it sound? Is it much louder than the stock, does it now sound like a muscle car?
Glad you like it Rickk! Did you end up painting the tips of the Joe Z black? I know some people have done that to kind of hide it but I didn't :)

I agree 110% with you, this is how the car should have sounded coming from the factory. It has a deep, throaty "don't mess with me" sound and a great deal of rwhp to back it up :) I also have to say thanks again to Joe Z for a great sounding, looking and easy to install product
My take on this is as follows: To make more Horsepower you have to pass more air. With that said I must admit it is a little louder in the cabin then I thought. However the added noise in the cabin is worth every decible of the new noise outside the cabin and the increase in performance. The litmus test: My wife was in the car last night and I quote " this is not as loud as I thought it would be" end of conversation. If she will drive it it has not approached obnoxious. I have only driven approx 75 miles since install. The tech told me that it takes approx 250-300 miles before the engine computer has completly remapped the air/fuel mixture. Right now it is running a little lean which is a good thing. Boys you cannot feel 5-10 HP but you can feel 20-24 HP. As I said before anyone who has a gripe with the current performance and or sound of their F this mod is a MUST HAVE. Let's be completly candid here did we buy this car to be a soft luxury sedan? I think not!

As I mentioned in my first thread I am 43 years old and have a 18 YO son. I am not your run of the mill boy racer. I am 110% sastified with this purchase!

Mike, I left the tips the way they came. I would have felt bad about scuffing up the nice bright tips. You have to look real hard to see them through the diffusers. I have been around alot of performance and cannot put my finger and what this cars now sounds like. That in itself is a good thing. I like being different and this car now has a new personality.

Thanks again fo the contact over at VIP auto salon. I wont buy anywhere else!
Awesome stuff Rickk, glad the exhaust turned out the way you wanted it too  Now you need the Joe Z intake :D

No problem, like I said, Clark is a great guy to get to know
Absoulutely!!
Wow! I can't believe they actually did it. You know them personally? ;)
Do you mind sharing cost (i.e., parts and labor)?

Also, any pics?
Yes I do know them very well, in fact only one tech touches my car. I am able to go into the service area and watch making sure everything is done just right. The whole svr dept was very excited to see the mod and hear it when complete. As far as pricing as I have mentioned in other threads contact Clark Isihara @ VIP Auto Salon for the best deeal on the physical parts. My dealer charged me for 2.5 hrs @ $100 per. If you saw the original thread posted by JOE Z you must have a Special Service Tool (SST) to remove the O2 sensors from the exhaust system.
Mike, I ordered the Intake at the same time. It should arrive any day. I had mine anodized in Black. I will soon have the Complete package!

Thanks for the info. It'll be some time before I go this far with the new IS-F.
