So I raced some kid I know that drives around a Suburu WRX Impreza STI with intake and exhaust. Sadly enough my other buddies told him that I was driving around an IS 350 and he started laughing at my car, big mistake... Well fun race, funny video check it out!

Nice kill! That suby sure did sound nice though :)
Good Race! But from looks of it the Sti is about 07? B/c you should of taken him way better than that but you did mention he has intake and exhaust..
The newer 08 Sti's are monsters(Non modded)..F can take him but in the beginning it's neck and neck..mainly due to the 08 Sti's go about same pace for 0-60 timer..
that's hilarious!!! the guy was probably is a total state of denial and now planning his next mod!!! Gotta love the F!
man it was no match, even when he got out front you just embarrassed him and passed him FTW! Dude thats was sick, it was like taking candy from a baby!:D  By the way your IS-F is all stock right? or did you make any mods under the hood?

All stock... Afterwards I added that Amsoil drop in filter but I haven't really ran the car since. What's even more funny is that on the last race I actually started off in second gear by mistake then dropped it to first... Didnt even realize it right at the beginning until I looked down.

Newer sti just like newer evos are actually slower than 06/07's. Same engine for sti but with more weight = slower car! The sti hangs off the line because of tracton awd up to 100 and over the ISF will walk it.

Hm.. Interesting! Maybe it's just me then..I went up against the 08 Sti the Hatchback version and we were about neck in the neck in the begining and gradually I took him out..

what speed did you race up to, were you manually shifting?

Let's See, to be precise I leave everything stock for example strange enough I just found that VDIM can be disabled but never done it, however always use Sport mode but No, I didn't use manuel mode..Rather Paddle shifters instead..
You can use the paddle shifters in both manual and drive (automatic). I'm assuming you used them while in drive?

I know..But I was never interested in it..I'll try it later down..:D
ao3; next time try the paddles big diffrence. practice runing thru the gear as fast as u can . the sti is not even in our class u should have smoked him!!!!!!!
Henry, um if you read my post correctly I mention that I use paddle shifters..Just not manuel mode at all..I used it one time long time ago which was when I first purchased the vehicle back in march..
And yes I'm starting to believe it lot more Sti is slightly slower due to the weight difference from the previous model to current ones..
Same goes for Evo's..Actually my friend mentioned this prior b/c he's got Evo 9 but he claimed the car was slower Current Evo 10's due to not being manual..What he mentioned to say was weight difference and Evo are manuals but MR's aren't..
I gotta point out that your competition should be M3's or a MB C63 AMG, . . . .

. . . not stock 4 cylinder turbo cars that cost 20K less.

I think whole point of this thread is almost basically going up against modded Sti's and Evo's...I mean of course main opponents are M3s,RS4 and C63 AMGs..
Let me correct some comments from an STI and IS-F owner. Newer STIs are lighter than the previous models with more HP stock. Once tuned with just a few parts, they are faster 0-60 and quarter mile than our Fs. Those modded beyond stage II...we can't touch them in any way whatsoever...I have one with a similar setup. These are very different cars...fun in their own unique ways. My 2 cents.
I'm with PKROCKT....stock for stock the IS-F will kill the STI especially as the speeds approach triple digits....throw $600 and tune the STI and things get a lot more interesting....
stock turbo STIs are getting into the 11's with minimal $$$ so try not to pick on the little 4 cylinder cars....lol

again- totally different class of cars just trying to set some facts straight....

coming from my Legacy (425whp450wtq) the IS-F is a world apart but it would lose badly in a race....badly
jblu24 i started moding on my 2003 or 04 legacy i got the automatic before i started autox and track the tubro lag was killing me so istarted moding like achicken w no head i was new to it and threw money all over then i traded it in for a wrx limited still had lag issues started modding again, this time with a sane game plan , half way thru i felin love w the isf a car i thought i didnt need to mod.!???
I think most if not all of us here are all car enthusiasts...hard to stay away from modding our rides!!!

As for AutoXing...there's an old civic in my area which dominates SCCA! The car looks like crap, not much power but with proper setup and an awesome driver...he kicks some serious butt.
