Crazy as it seems I was almost maybe not even hr from signing the paper from owning the GTR by Trading in the F.
But the problems are 3:
1.Dealer was askin whopping $20K over the sticker price
2.It's was sold by the time I get there
3.One year waiting list with no guarantee

I was in quite a shock..Beautiful car I must say, I mean while I was driving up the dealership everyone or anyone who hasn't never seen the F in general was looking at my car while I was dreaming for little while on the GTR..

Oh well! :D I guess I'm destined to wait 2 years or so Like I planned b4..

Holy s*** 20K over sticker?! What color was the one you were looking at? I don't think the F is a bad car at all to stick with for 2 years or so :D

Same Color as my F..Starfire Pearl, if the such color exist for GTR..
I love the F more than anything, crazy as it may sound but around my way NO ONE owns a F as of yet.I had the car for 4 months officially now..
Anyhow It was a real beauty..I got pics if I can post it, rather when I get the chance you can check them out..

GTR $75K B4 Tax and tags etc at full option(100% Sure General Manager said Full option)..With $20K markup $95K total b4 Tax and Tag..
Basically $100K..I think I"ll wait and decide whether I should get the Supercharger from TRD for the F or GTR or maybe something else all
together..Choices,Choices..That's America for You Bro!!:D :D
$20K is nothing, try $40K !!!!

While driving past the local Nissan dealer on Saturday I noticed a black GTR being moved to their new car delivery area so I hit the brakes and went in for a look see. They told me the black one was sold and in fact the new owner was there ready to pick it up. Sure enough he was! It was Donald Sutherland of Mash fame picking up a new black GTR!

But the Sales Mgr told me I was in luck as they also had a double silver one there that I could buy! Cool, let's look it over. They walked me accross the street to their new car prep area and behind a curtain was a just off the truck silver one being washed and cleaned up. The sticker read $79850.00 but I was quickly told to buy the car would take at least $40K OVER sticker or no deal. I said that was a 50% mark up, could they be serious??? Sure enough they were. Without laying down at least a 50% deposit on the car they wouldn't even let me sit in it.... They claimed to have a LONG waiting list and they were really doing me a favor even talking to me and showing me the car... I jokingly said "how about sticker plus $10K?" to which the Sale Mgr said "come back where you are serious" and turned and walked away......

Quite frankly IMHO for $120,000.00 there are a LOT of other car possibilities beside a Nissan GTR....... The experience only made me apprecaite my Lexus IS-F a bit more.....

I am sure that the Nissan "experience" is worth the mark-up. LMAO.

That is insane! I can't imagine paying that much for a GTR. Granted it is a nice car but not worth the price plus mark up

$40K? WTF! What are they fu**in Nuts? For that I can get a BMW M6 or a AMG edition Benz..Nissan dealership down your area bro, can suck my co*k..
At least the GM down my way was very polite and told me what to expect etc..The most I'll is $10k max maybe..For my F I paid actually $5K over dealer markup..Which I had no problem with..Infact the dealership still takes care of me..I mean come on,YES it's GTR the Japanese Supercar but $40K markup is really insane on any car for that matter..It's GTR NOT A LAMBORGHINI!!
By the way it's cool that Donald Sutherland is Driving the GTR..I'm sure of it but he's the father of Kiefer Sutherland..Yes? Unless there is more than one Donald Sutherland..
I was #1 on wait list at local dealer here in Chicago area, kept stringing me along until finally admitted to $ 25K mark-up. Needless to say I walked away, bought the F and never looked back!!! Can you imagine the frustration these owners will suffer the first time they need service from a dealer use to the $ 20K - 35K car market demographic. Nissan dealers will have NO CLUE how to provide the level of service expected and DESERVED when buying a high end sports car. Especially from a dealer that already SCREWED you upon delivery. I'll take my Lexus any day thank you!!!!!
Honestly that waiting list doesn't even meen nothing anymore before I put my deposit down on the f I was arguing with my wife to get the gtr smithtown dealership told me that for the premium obsidian black was going to be 72,965 at sticker price with the mark up of 20k and I did care but she did even thoe I know the manager (can't disclose his name) he said that he would take care of me for 92k and I would only have to wait 8wks
I have nothing to say..When I first purchased the F I waited Maximum of 2 hrs Tops..This was when the car just came out,Mid March..NO Dealership around my area/state had them in stock except for 1..They actually had to deliver the car using a cargo carrier back to my dealership.
YES, $5k markup as I indicated with every option you could think which came up to with tax around little over $70K which I had no problem paying b/c when I saw the F in my face, I thought I was in LOVE!!!
But $20K or $40k is INSANE! I'm sorry! IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
The Ironic part is that the first 2 weeks that I had the F(Mid April) I actually ran into a Nissan dealer at a gas station who was trying to sell me a GTR but back then I had no idea what the heck GTR is about..Oh well! Who cares! Some Lucky/Unlucky chump is stuck with the GTR who paid $20K over just so the pride of saying he got one..I mean no disrespect b/c everyone has a price they would pay no matter how much it is long as they get it..It just that my value is $5-$10K max maybe $10K..

I know what you meen man. I never thought much of the f and I thank my wife because if she didn't have that appointment I would have never even thought about stepping into the lexus dealership. Literally when I saw the is-f it practically sold when I saw it I was brought and when I drove it I was sold. I paid 7k over sticker price 65K and now im only waiting for the phone call. My wife even wants one

Ironic thing is that IF I knew how to drive manuel I would of gotten BMW M3 which with Full option goes for $78K before tax so which means it will be around $82k and some change..Before that I was in Transit for a Range Rover Supercharged the Regular model not the Sport which was around $95K with Tax but with some issue involved MAINLY GAS PRICE I did not want it..
So in some ways F saved me at least $18-20K..Couldn't be happier..

BTW,You should keep the F for Muscle and get her a IS350 which is still very good but quite the F!;)
Also just like the F I do not see IS350 at all, I mean I see them but rarely..maybe about 3-4..
Of course if she wants the IS350 that is..You should do it..That's one less competition on the road..lol..
I was also in the market for the m3 test drove one I actually loved the power not much the styling thoe and and the interior just didn't feel worth the price I still have my 06 335i and when I got in the m3 I didn't feel like I was in something new.
About my wife idk what to get her yet she's a junkie for power but she's alittle reckless on the road (you knowwomen always thinking they can drive like men) lol so im alittle scared if I get her it she may go over board so when I get my f im gonna let her do a few runs with it but I did offer her the is350 I told her that she can even get the 135i but she's like no thanks.lol its funny cause she swears im rich asking me to buy her pink diamond lol

Nice. :)

I can imagine strolling into the Nissan dealer with a GTR in for service. I ask for a loaner so I can go back to work...and they put me in a Versa...
Lol thats funny I would flip out

Personally I'd advice that you don't let your wife drive the F when you get it bro..This car is VERY POWERFUL! Once the engine is broken in, there is nothing like it(I call it the Lion's Roar on 3500 RPM).My pattern of driving is I put the car on Sport mode and then use Paddle shifters to control the RPM..It's Very Frightening..Only Other car I had this type of rush was from my Friend's CLS55 AMG..More Frightening than the F..No joke! If you do, make sure that the ENGINE IS BROKEN IN properly..
Not just women but men in general as well has the tendency to speed like crazy..For me I literally waited 5K miles before pushing it..I drove no faster than 60 MPH being patient till 5,000 miles..
As for IS350 is Very nice car indeed however it's not the F.
As for BMW 135i those cars are FAST! It's even FASTER when you chip it, if you chip it, that is!!!

Too late...:)

My wife took the 'F' bomb (as we affectionately call it) on a short trip this past weekend. My 16 year old ratted her out and said 'Mom really likes your car'! I look over at her and she has this evil grin on her face. :p

After a couple of BMW's that she hated, you can not underestimate the power of 'WAF'...Wife Acceptance Factor.
Your getting into Maserati territory with those kind of prices. I also contacted the local Nissan Dealership before purchasing my IS-F. They also wanted $20k above list and I basically told them to shove it. I'll get a more reliable car for far less before I give anyone anything above list on a vehicle.
