Has anyone replaced their subwoofer

Has anyone replaced the subwoofer from the ML package? If so what sub fit? Mine blew last summer and I should be getting my car back soon (from sikky) and I would like to replace it with something else. Thanks for the help.

I'm trying to figure out if mine is blown or just hitting its excursion limits. Mine sounds good most of the time, but occasionally sounds bad on certain music.

So I guess I'm curious how to determine whether it is blown, or I'm just hitting the excursion limits.

I look forward to hearing what you end up doing as I'm considering replacing mine as well.

Good luck and thanks.

I'm replacing mine with an enclosure from Boxology (http://www.mysosinc.com/box_lex_IS.html), and a JBL GTO3501 mono amp. I sprung for the JBL MS8 system also, but that's not specifically related to the sub. It probably be a month before I get it all installed and working.
I believe I'm going to try a jl 8w1v2. The guys on club Lexus said that the 10" should fit (it does in the gs) but I'm not gonna gamble on the 10" since the factory speaker is an 8". I'll keep everyone updated.
Good luck with that speaker. I wonder if just changing the speaker would increase the bass level? Does anyone know where the stock amp is at and can it be easily changed out for something with a little more umph? I don't really need more, just would like more at times, but don't want to lose any space.

It's under the plastic piece on the passenger's right side at the back of the trunk. You'll need to take up the trunk plate over the spare to lift the piece on the right. Changing just the speaker is not going to help. That's why I went with a separate sub and mono amp. Search over on CL - lotsa info there.
My driver side Rear speaker was blown from the factory.
FYI

Thanks, When I get some time I will look over at CL. I just like it here, but I do miss a lot of information over there.
I'm more then likely still going to add an additional amp. I just want a sub that will fit in the rear deck like the factory sub. I want an open trunk.

Yeah, we're friendlier here! :)
