I would definitely be interested in a complete street legal race exhaust system within the next year. If JE Import Performance can create a complete system from the headers through the mufflers, that would be ideal. I think it is better when a complete exhaust system is designed to work together instead of piecing different aftermarket parts together and hoping for the best...which I have done many times with varying results.

No one will ever race me. It sucks I don't understand. I've only been able to full out race bikes really. I raced some bike last night wasn;t sure what it was because it was dark but I know he never pulled on me. We were neck and neck the whole time. I tried to race a vette yesterday but he wouldn't race and when he finally gave a little jump and I hit it and I flew past him and he wouldn't race me after that . I guess the exhuast scares people I don't know. Oh and like 15 second VW's try to race me :p. Not worth the time. Jin I can't do sunday my brother is coming to my house to work on my bar in my basement with me. Ravens theme!!!!
GO SKINS!!! Sorry Jaslapp, had to do it.

I haven't really raced anybody with the F yet...I have only seen admiring glances from those in the know, or flew past people before they knew what was happening. As for bikes...I don't know what type of bike you raced, but it certainly wasn't anything like mine. As awesome as the F is, my bike would leave it in the dust in the same manner an ISF would dust a Geo Metro. Of course there are a lot of sportbike riders out there who don't know how to ride or are too scared/smart to ride hard.
By the way...I am jealous...I wish I had a bar in my basement.

I'm heading out of my house in few minutes to go drop off my F. I'll keep everyone posted as the process goes on. I leave for the beach next week so hopefully by the time I'm back it will be done and I'll have dyno sheets and all the works for everyone.
I can't wait to see the results. Depending on how it sounds (i.e. no droning while cruising) I might just have to break my commitment to keeping my ISF stock for a while.

I stopped by JE Import Performance yesterday to take a look around. I was definitely impressed after talking to a couple of the guys there. They know their S$#t. I am going to bring my wife's S2000 up there tomorrow to get the coilover ride height and camber angles adjusted (regular shops keep messing it up). I can definitely see them doing a good job with whatever they create for the ISF.

Jaslapp, I saw your car up on the lift and went on the shop floor to get a good look at the ISF underbody. I talked with James about the headers. He said that the stock ones appear to be very restrictive...almost as if Lexus put them in as an afterthought. I hope this means that some good aftermarket headers will net a decent power increase.

Cool... Did you get to see our exhaust on his is F???

I would say Lexus designed the restrictve manifolds based on power output wanted and space contraints located inside our super tight engine bays..

I agree that there is room for improvement on the header design, which should create some more power on our V8's once, the primary CATs are deleted..

Some good R&D should come out of this, on whether its going to be worth it or not to create headers.

Regards,
Joe Z
Yes, I got a good look at the exhaust...looked like a very solid and clean setup. I have a question...what is the weight of the Joe Z exhaust vs stock? I've heard there is a decent power increase and a great exhaust note...I was just wondering about weight savings. Thanks.

Thanks for the numbers Joe Z.

Is there any possibility of getting a titanium exhaust...or something lighter than stainless steel? I have a full titanium exhaust on my bike...I imagine it might be very expensive to make a car exhaust with it though...just thought it would be nice to have a power increase combined with considerable weight savings.

UPDATE
The prototype is almost complete which means I will be able to test drive it soon. Hopefully by the end of next week it will be complete and hopefully I will have some dyno sheets. I'm going to drive it around for 500 miles to make sure no check engine lights appear. Don't worry they will be a quick 500.
Awesome!!! I am eagerly awaiting the results.

By the way Jaslapp, I am considering talking to James about doing a custom engine build with supercharger on my wife's S2000...should be interesting. If I do this, I will have a serious track monster on my hands (400hp - 2800 lbs). I was thinking about seeing if they would find a way to fit an LS7 under the hood (has been done before with an LS2), but my wife wants me to work with what's in there already (oh well it is her car).

I am excited to see the final result. Jaslapp, I will have to meet up with you when I get home (am currently out of the country) to see how your setup sounds and performs. I said before that I was going to try and keep my ISF stock for a least a year, but I don't think I will make it that long. After you get dynos done, it will be interesting to see how much WHP can be gained from aftermarket intake, headers, and exhaust. I want to see if I can put free flowing cats with O2 sensors after the JE Import Performance headers, and in front of a good aftermarket exhaust. I haven't taken the time to look under the ISF carefully to see how it will all work. I do want to keep my ISF street legal and not have to swap out exhausts IOT pass a visual emissions check.

Jaslapp, one more question...does your setup drone at all while cruising? I know that it has to be loud, but this doesn't bother me. Droning at low and medium RPM does bother me a lot though. Thanks in advance.

Man I hate spammers. Every once in a while I try and see things from their point of view, but it never works, because there is no way I can get my head that far up my @$$.

Jason,

Wow, a 150+ posts on this thread...I guess the ISF community really wants a free flowing header. I can't wait to see the dyno results. My bet is on 35 WHP when combining the Sikky headers, JoeZ exhaust & intake pipe, and Tom's air filter.

I would like to know as well...if it works with my schedule, I would love to see the dyno runs and the headers. Maybe I would then get get the chance to meet you Jason. I have been to the shop and seen your ISF up on the lift, but haven't met you.

No, it is nothing like that whatsoever. I agree, it is frustrating how long this is taking, but the length of time it has taken for this to be finished has nothing to do with the quality of work that is being done.

These headers were created by JE Import Performance in Essex, MD, and will be sold through their brand name Sikky. I only have a little experience with these guys, but from what I've seen, they do things right...no matter how long it takes. They have many incredible tuner builds to their name, many of which have ended up on the cover of Turbo magazine.

Its not that they can't come up with great products in a short period of time, it is that they have many other projects that take up the majority of their time. They are not focusing as heavily on ISF performance parts like [email protected] is. At least that is how I understand it.

I would have liked to see the preliminary dyno sheets though, and after the 500 miles, the new sheets could show the results after the ECU adapted to the changes.

...or it could be the fact that Maryland got another unexpected dose of snow yesterday evening/through the night...makes it a little difficult to get pics unless you have lift in your garage.

This is the first real winter I have had since moving to Maryland. It works for me though...I love the snow and have a beast of a truck.

Then again, you can still make a quick video of start up, idle, and revving when it is snowing...hehehe.

LOL! Thank you sir, finally someone with enough mind for implementation.

I think some people need to relax a bit. Be patient and wait for results. They are testing the product. I don't think any reputable shop would put out a product that doesnt make any power, and only gives CELs.

OP gets a hard time for updating the community. Perhaps the people that have so much to say should put a competitive set of headers on the table.
+1 to that.
