I was wondering when should i go fully synthetic oil on my F? What brand is best? Should i do my own oil change and avoid the $156 service charge? My F have 6231 miles on it after 2 oil changes and still breaking in on my Joe Z exhaust :D

Why not? If you know how to do it, go for it, nothings better than working on your own car and the feeling when you know you just accomplished a task on your car.
Hi guys this is BJG403.I have a 09 blk&blk isf I was talking to my lexus rep, and he told me a few guys were complaining about a hesitation off the line.He told me lexus are now using synthetic oil in f car and reprogaming the computer and it took the hesitation away. And if you are experienceing that lexus will change it at no cost to you.

Is there a Bulletin for this? any recall number? I dont mind having a free oil change. lol
i dont understand how or what they would need/use to reprogram the ecu. its not like they can just give it a power bump in the low rpm. if it was that easy im pretty sure there would be a chip or something out for the isf...
I use Eneos Synthetic 5w30 for my 09 IS F. I'm currently near 21k miles. Buy synthetic for the piece of mind...not for performance gains (which it will not yield).
My guess is that most on this board will go synthetic, but at a 5000 mile oil change interval, I'm not sure it will not matter at all. Remember, the IS-F has a 10 qt sump as well as oil coolers and a scavange pump, things that allow dino oil to protect better by itself. My guess is that more protection gains from hard/track style driving would more likely be seen from a thicker oil such as 10w-30, a high mileage 10W-30, or a 15W-40. If you really run the lexus hard, a synthetic like redline would be a good choice. For daily driving, there is no benefit from synthetic in the IS-F with a 5000 mile oil change interval.

I agree with you on this. I don't run my car hard all the time and besides I take this only on weekends and three seasons. So going to synthetic, I'm not sure if i can tell it makes a difference.
