Sorry for you bad experience, but yes I've heard of this and it scares the hell out of me...............
........so much so that I go home from such services and retorque the lugnuts to be sure the job was done properly.
More often than not, the nuts are too tight with disastrous consequences, and ocassionally, as you found out, too loose with even worse consequences.....

You shouldn't have to, but believe me, it's worth having a torque wrench on hand these days.....

I'm not convinced there is a competent dealership of any type in Houston. If there is I have yet to experience it. My Volvo dealership put the only scratch on the entire car, one of my wheels. and then they had no idea they did it. Other dealerships have been just as bad.
Just so everyone knows, the wheels should be torqued down to 76 ft lbs !!!

Good reminder, ISFChamp.....That's a fairly low torque # and well worth knowing and remembering for those who don't read the manual....

You don't want to over torque them, or you can damage the wheels and even snap off the stud !!! I've seen it happen before, not on a IS-F, but I've been drag racing for several years !! I've seen just about everything you could think of...
